Ok, putting aside the obvious argument to what you said, lets try a different one. The technoligy now exists to enforce all traffic laws. What if they did that? No more traffic violations? Do you have any idea the impact that would have on society? Speed limits are based on cars made decades ago. New advances in technoligy like anti lock, etc, made our speed limits rediculous. What if truckers couldnt speend anymore (even when its safe), what if you got a ticket every time you did a rolling stop at a stop sign? Laws are broken, its a nice ballance on our streets. I could easily been written 200 tickets a day if a cop was following me, and Im a safe driver. Maybe I do 5 over the speed limit, maybe I only slow to .5 mph at a stop sign, and not a full stop. Maybe I change lanes without signaling. NO ONE follows all traffic laws. On the good side, it would be nice if that mother fucker that drives 15 in a 40 in front of me started getting tickets. At this rate, all traffic laws will be abolished, along with all other laws to be replaced with thought crime.

I havent read the actual bill (that stuff bores me), but going by what our politicians do, Im willing to bet its a bill that sounds good to your windoze users but doesnt actualy work. ie you buy a computer it should never have a problem. No bsod, no viruses, no idiot mis configuring something. If the bill just says that the hardware should work, and if it goes defective, thats fine. I worked a tech support for a large national isp. Some people (the older the more frequent) saw the computer/os/software as one product. Like a car, you buy a car, and get a 5 year warranty. They dont understand if they download something, its not part of the computer. They think like a car, its a single product and it should never have problems, includeing windoze, norton utilities, quicken, non-techies dont realize that they arnt the same.
