  1. Re: Same old song and dance on Verizon's Plan To Turn the Web Into Pay-Per-View · · Score: 1

So, the only things that will be free on the Internet will be advertisement sponsored sites like Facebook, Google, and torrent sites ..... Does this mean that verizon will be compensating data providers, while charging consumers? Won't this mean that prolific torrent seeders are now heavily compensated? Sounds great! Bring it on.

  2. Re: fattening the cow on UK Gov't Outlines Plans To Privatize Royal Mail · · Score: 1

All the private courier services are WHY royal mail service is getting worse. The private companies are cherry picking the profitable part of the market, whereas the profitable parts of the market used to subsidize royal mail for the unprofitable part of the market. Now that royal mail no longer has the profitable section of the market to subsidize the unprofitable section of the market, it is forced to cut services, while maintaining the existing pricing structure. If anyone believes that a private (for profit) company will provide a better holistic service, think again.

So ... I wonder if any schools have been handing out free mobile phones to students lately ..... What could possibly go wrong?

In Oz, to register a phone number, you need ID. I'm surprised that where you live, the government is quite prepared to let phones be sold to people without names. What next? Guns?

  5. So ... let me get this right ... on Blizzard Boss Says Restrictive DRM Is a Waste of Time · · Score: 1

LAN play and LAN Parties, the features that made the original Starcraft and the Warcrafts so popular, is now now no longer allowed. WoW! How stupid! Does anyone wonder if the progression from Social Lan Parties to Multiplayer Online gaming is actually making nerdy gamers even less likely to breed? Consider 10-20 people in a house attempting to kick each-others asses while conversing, joking & interacting with eachother, to a single person kicking some random blokes ass on the internet - someone which they are unlikely to ever meet. That's progress? I wonder if there is a correlation between patronage for online gaming, and rates of depression and suicide :iagree:

In the event of an accident, the airbag will crush the iPad into your face.

Self Correcting Issue. I, for one, am a total advocate of the steering wheel ipad holder. After this has been all the rage for a few years, dating will be much easier, because you can spot all the dumb women, before getting involved with them :) And Vice versa for the women ..

  7. Re:Cheap NAS on Best Solutions For Massive Home Hard Drive Storage? · · Score: 1

Losing your data on the HDD's was YOUR fault, not the DNS-323's. JBOD using concatenation has no redundancy. If the primary drive dies you lose all content on both HDDs, if the secondary drive dies, your filesystem is messed up .. and you have trouble because a large chunk of the partition/filesystem doesn't exist. Why use JBOD at all? Why not just use as separate drives. Performance would be much the same, and if a drive dies, you still have the other one with all data intact!

  8. Aliens! on Jupiter Is Missing a Belt · · Score: 1

I predict that a bunch of aliens stole Jupiters belt while it was hiding behind the sun ..... and as a joke reprogrammed our satellite to speak gibberish :) Stephen Hawking believes that aliens are up to no-good, but it seems to me that aliens are just a bunch of school age hooligans out for a laugh. I think we're on the same page here :p
