Point is that the BeOS interface was much better than the alternatives at the time, an OS built from the kernel up with the desktop in mind, but mostly nobody used it for various reasons. I linked haiku because it tries to replicate that environment, at least on the first version.
I found the memory problems with Firefox disappeared in version ten.
I've found that there's always someone who claims this on every version released, ever since it started having memory management issues, with some useful entry in about:config that magically never solves the problem, at least for all people.
Oh but of course it's not the same, Bitcoin is by far technologically superior. It natively deactivates the standard international trading methods that generate ridiculous amounts of revenue for banks and financial institutions, while providing encryption and ease of use. The only conflict I see is with companies like Western Union, who make quite a business of transferring money between locations and businesses.
"Portal is Narbacular Drop" in true only in the same sense that, say, "HL1 is Doom" is true.
Yet Doom and Half Life were not developed by the same team, I understand it's not the same case with Gearbox because they're not owned by valve.
Opposing force was an amazing game that not many people played, so it's a shame to see it abandoned like that.
That is not going to magically make all applications utilize more than 4GB of memory, they still have to support PAE. Besides, the link you posted does link to another list of Windows versions that support it, only with a different command line switch.
I know this probably isn't the answer that you're looking for, but nothing constructive can be taught in photoshop if the expected final result is intended to be exactly the same. Students should be encouraged to use the techniques taught in the image creation process, but not replicate it pixel-perfect.
The systems are fairly similar so there's probably going to be a way to install DirectX 11.1 on Windows 7, just like you could install version 10 on Windows XP with some patching.
Are iphone analogies the new car analogies? And no, Star Wars came up with the concept of movie merchandizing and licensing. The concept did not exist before that film. That's quite a bigger deal than designing a new cellphone with fart apps.
make the iPhone look pretty darn crappy by comparison.
Technically, yes. The point of the iPhone is also the industrial designed involved in its production, which is still gorgeous. I think that's what people still go for when they pick it. To think of it, this applies to all of apple's products.

I'm guessing the exodus of users scared the hell out of them. What's the point of a "superior" desktop experience that nobody will use?

They're waiting for manufacturers to ship smartphones with 16GB of RAM before release.

Can barely wait for Warcraft 4: PetZ
Now 4chan makes perfect sense.

Well, Portal is developed by Valve in the sense CounterStrike was developed by Valve: they hired the team that developed Narbacular Drop.
I fully expect the two divergent plots to merge. Keeping in mind that (spoiler):
Yeah, that's what we said about Half Life: Opposing Force, and apparently now it never officially happened.
I heard the detection rate is killer.
This is what 90's kids actually believe.

I take the opportunity to directly blame Netscape for Firefox's memory leaks.
If there only was a way to remedy this problem, a "patch" if you will.
