  1. Exceeding on Can We Build a Human Brain Into a Microchip? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Instead of recreating a human brain why don't they figure out how to wire a processor into the human brain to improve it.

I could use a built in graphing calculator or spell check.

There was a chain of porn shops around Baltimore called "The Shack" so the name will have some hilarious connotations here.

IMO the larger distrobutions, such as Ubuntu and Red Hat, can be even more inuitive to use than Windows. No "advanced" certifications required.

I can assure you that WiFi is banned. A guy drives around in am old pickup with a hand held EMF detector and gives people stations for using stuff like

    -cell phones
    -wireless speakers
-FM transmitters (which is what I got busted for)
    -and WiFi routers

I have been there for school a few times and once forgot to turn off my Ipod FM transmitter.

  7. Progress on Solar-Powered Moon Rover To Explore Apollo Landing · · Score: 1

I have been keeping track of this team for at least a year now. It is a local team and a favorite in the Google lunar x prize. But honestly they have had almost no major advances since last summer. Also in the economic downturn they have not found any real sponsors. AND they still do not have any launch provider willing to take their rover. I think they are waiting for a Space X charity launch. It most likely wont happen before the 2014 deadline

They have 13 people up there with strong engineering and scientific backgrounds, shouldn't one of them be able to fix it. Toilet repair should be mandatory for the Russian crew members from now on, at least as they are still using the faulty Soviet MIR surplus toilets.

  11. Comentary on Futurama Voices Could Be Recast · · Score: 2, Informative

During the commentary's for the both the movies and the season DVDs all the voice actors always said that it was their favorite show to work on. It was hard to tell if this was simply pandering but they sounded genuinely sincere. Especially Billy West and John DiMaggio who seemed to be to big fans of the show. And I don't think Katty Segal is being flooded with job offers. The only ones I see moving on are the greatly talented Maurice Lamarche and Tres McNeil who do a lot of work other than Futurama and only play secondary characters on the show. That seems a little low to me. I have some DVDs which are at least 10 years old and some CDs which are older than I am,(25 years), and they all still play fine.

  14. Re:Bad news on What If the Apollo Program Had Continued? · · Score: 1

Well the cold war was ended by a military "pissing contest" in the mid 80s. The USSR could not continue to spend the amount of money it was to keep up with the Americans. This, with a few more things, effectively brought an end to the Soviet Union. Perhaps the space race could have been the back breaker 20 years earlier and the world would not have had to ten thousand nukes the soviets stockpiled in the 70s.
