  1. this can inhibit stuttering in speech on Computer Program Reconstructs Heard Words From Brain Scans · · Score: 2

This technology can be used to inhibit stuttering for persons with this disorder. You see, there's this phenomenon where stuttering can be inhibited if a stutterer speaks in approximate unison with other speakers (choral speech). A device was thus developed that attempts to mimic choral speech by echoing a stutterer's speech with a few milliseconds delay (delayed auditory feedback). It's effective, but not 100% effective since a stutter needs to overcome the initial stuttering block (i.e., he needs to speak so that it can be echoed later). With this technology, a device can simply read your mind so that you can speak in unison with the "mind reading device". I hope there would be a portable version of this soon.

There is a trend in some of our local (PH) pharmacies, where they would pay a licensed pharmacist to show his license to authorities. Then, they would hire unlicensed sales ladies in lieu of a pharmacist. The pharmacist gets paid without working, and the pharmacy would end up with less costs. Win-win.

Making the poor a bit poorer is the an easy way to get rich, but it's not the best way, nor is it the only way. Just look at America, the land of Capitalism. It's so funny that Americans are currently protesting why they are so poor, because when you look at facts, it is very clear that they are rich:

In 2005, the typical household defined as poor by the government had a car and air conditioning. For entertainment, the household had two color televisions, cable or satellite TV, a DVD player, and a VCR. If there were children, especially boys, in the home, the family had a game system, such as an Xbox or a PlayStation*

This "be a jerk" thing that the Pickup Scam Artist society advocates only work in the real world. I've tried this online with disastrous results. I think this needs to be combined with an effective body language to be successful. The self-effacing thing works, however, if much of your communication is done via e-mail, text, or old skool IRC and SMS. I got a 9 back in college by being self-effacing online, but it didn't really work out after we physically met. So, here's my proposed solution: be vulnerable online but be confident offline.
