According to my Backblaze reports, I have 261 GB of raw files stored online. This is essentially my 2010 wedding work plus my family photos, etc.
These 260 G of photos are also stored locally on my file server. That gives each Raw file a minimum of 3 copies.
When I get the go ahead (ie. the person who contracts me ships the last album), I'll archive 2010 to an external drive, keep the best shots for my portfolio directory, and make space on my working drive for 2011.
Besides Backblaze, my personal photos are all uploaded as full size jpegs to Flickr, Backblaze, an external drive called "media" that comes between work and home. Seems robust enough.
Man, What about Chat Chalet, a major bbs with something like 15 incoming lines. What else was there...The Red Sector, was a favorite, as well as Hackensack High School BBS (lots of science/math txt files IIRC)..We ran one off of my 286 for a while, but mostly just a private tradewars game for 10 of my buddies.
I remember playing tradewars on 3 different boards..Man
Big Joe
I was going to just browse through the links, when I noticed he went to RPI.. I goto RPI.. This is some scary stuff, I'm glad to see that the RPI admins give up so quickly to the feds..
I'm a senior at RPI, and got stuck in the laptop pilot program freshman year - It wasn't all bad.. Maybe because at engineering school products such as Maple and Matlab were integrated into the class.
The PC ratio problem is rediculous. I am taking to UNIX based classes, OS and DataBase Systems, and I have resorted to living in 2 telnet windows and an ftp window. It's not the greatest way to work, but what can you do...Wish I could afford exceed
As Far as the the teft goes, if your careful, I don't see this as a problem. I bring my laptop to the union all the time, and long as I have a friend around I leave it there, otherwise it comes with me to go outside, smoke a butt, whatever
BTW 10BT JAcks are everywhere, including hallways and soon to be in the Campus Pub!
I'm currently debating whether ebaying PC and embedding it in a case or buying something similar to this. The biggest features that would lead me to buy a system like that are missing. I want Component Video to hook up to my Sony Wega TV. And I think this is the only DVD player today (ok maybe not the only one) that doesn't have Dolby Digital Outs. For 600 bucks -
It seems to me that for 600 Dollars Those two features should have been snuck in....I guess with it being just a PC this is asking a lot. But I'm just dreaming:)
Cheers

I don't know about anyone else - but I already have a dedicated MP3 harddrive (40gigs) and I'm sure I have simms in the parts closet.
What I am lacking is a way to control it. I've spent a considerable amount of time researching pc based MP3 players at mp3.com. The form factors are ugly though. With a kit like this you have a lot more leeway (sp?) in how you package it.
What I would be critical about is that he is selling boards that he hasn't even finished coding for yet. What happened to completed projects, but that is life under the GPL from what I have seen.
Yo fellas - I understand what your doing as far as your studio stuff goes. At one point I owned all your CDS. After a car breakin - I have embraced MP3's. However I just wanted to say thanks a lot for not going after people with your live stuff.. The new Years show rocked!! Wish I could have been there
It's nice as a student because I like linux for programming etc, but am make presentations / excel type stuff in Office - It's just easier to integrate with what professors etc. use.. Also, besides using html, powerpoint is available in all the rooms with projection systems.. I know that i can Export etc, but still need office to test, tweak etc.. just my thoughts
