    and lest i forget to address the fact that many posts to the topic (NOT this particular subthread, mind you) are rascist... just look at the post which is few posts above this one that uses the n-word and the k-word... you had best believe that is racist and there are always those who sprinkle that VILE type of speech throughout many many of /. topic threads... fine, let them reveal themselves to be subhuman by using such words, free speech and all that, right? but call 'em as they are: rascist... so shoot me dead, ok? and while you're at it, mod me down for calling 'em as i see 'em...     oh gee, golly gosh... i SHOULD have said SOME anoncows, and FYI i said 'fascist', not 'fascism'... and perhaps i should've said 'fascistic', as A PERSON or PERSONS may demonstrate fascistic tendencies by advocating fascism or a fascist gov't or even by advocating fascist ideologies, or fascist modes of thought evident by their expression through speech... but the point would likely be lost on most people anyway... heh heh... and misogyny means, in short, a hatred of women. GYN is a root of the word that would have given you a clue... heh heh free prozac!!!

    no... it ain't lame flame.. you have a point and at the very least you are not spouting garbage like the anoncows (misogynistic, rascist, fascist, whatever they can manage to puke up out of their sick minds). but China is an odd mix of oligarchy/autocracy/socialism with a dollop of free marketism thrown in just so that the whole country does not go down the tubes... i would hardly call it communist, i really can't think of what the hell to properly call it other than what i have already... it's a disgraceful gov't and there are many levels and degrees of disgraceful gov'ts in this world so shoot me.

    I put in an order for Earthlink DSL on or about June 10th and am STILL waiting for Verizon to get off of their stupid,slovenly, and grossly oversized posterior and 'certify' my phoneline (one of three that I have in my home in New York, Manhattan) so that Earthlink can activate my account... but here's the kicker: Earthlink says (and they swear it is true, after all the polite but insistent grilling I have done to Earthlink, I believe them) that Verizon claims that the reason Verizon has not done their job in certifying a clean copper pair for DSL on my phoneline is because there are three different companies that have a workorder on the particular phoneline that I wish to use for my Earthlink DSL account!!! Of course, I have placed ONE order for DSL and that is with Earthlink. Verizon? The worst and most incompetent damn telco... makes me pine for the old BellAtlantic days. GAWD.

    i'd use anything that isn't netscape or IE... and i'd pay for it, if after trying it out i find that it suits my likes and needs. iCab is now my default browser and it is in beta, it has been in beta for a long while now and i've used it since its advent, and i am looking forward to rewarding www.icab.de by buying the first pay-version of iCab after using their betas for more than year (i think it has been that long), sure i have IE and netscape on my machine but they only get used when absolutely necessary (Flash content, SSL, etc) and that is NOT often... viz: often it is that less is more and simple is beautiful. i despise MS (IE is the only MSware on my machine) and have had a strong dislike for netscape for quite some time now, so i welcome the opportunity to dump them both and will pay for the privilege!

    hey, you'd be hard pressed to find a more virulently anti-fascist and nazi-hating person than myself... but i have always been fascinated by nazi paraphernalia and used to own a bit of it. i once owned a Walther PPK (with nazi insignia all over it) that had previously belonged to a colonel in the SS... that was one nasty/cool pistol... i no longer own any of that nazi stuff, sold it years ago and for a tidy profit... silly rabbit! trix are for kids!

    these filtering softwares are abominable... sure, they are supposed to be surrogate parents and keep kiddies away from 'bad stuff'... but isn't this just another abrogation of parental duties, installing this crap on a kid's computer or a school's network or similar whathaveyou? of course, a parent can't supervise a child on the web constantly though a parent can do enough supervision and should have already instilled certain proprieties in their children and have trust in them that they have been taught right from wrong and good from bad. will they go astray from time to time? of course, that is part of growing up.
