Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I got a little confused since the stories were very similar. Want I ment to say was that the article wasn't anything new for this and the story of how he tracked the users back to IRC channels is Exactly how gibson tracked back those people who ddos'd him. So I wasn't convinced that anything new happened here.
It has been my experience that most people will be able to recognize the fact that you have been doning 10X times work than the CIS/MIS people. I think that you will get more respect for pulling off the harder degree.
I Also think that you'll get paid more for having a degree at all verus not having one regardless of how good of a programmer you are.
One of the things I would like to see is not so much what linux turns into. But that companies who make a cute new device from the get go have linux driver support.
So I suppose Linux needs to have a better module support for droping in drivers without having to recompile the kernel.
A group of higher education associations are recommending that government officials, college administrators and researchers abstain from using the term "binge drinking" to describe student alcohol consumption. Members of the Inter-Association Task Force on Alcohol and Other Substance Abuse Issues, an umbrella organization of 21 higher education associations, claim that the term may actually encourage alcohol consumption by leading students to believe that heavy drinking is a campus norm. "The use of the term 'binge drinking' has hurt our effort in controlling alcohol abuse on campus," said Edward Hammond, chairman of the National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week.

I've always wondered whats the point of have an integrated 32MB graphics card that capable of doing so many polygons at a time when all i'm going to use it for is the run a 80x25 Text terminal
Ok, here's the deal in order to get people to fill out the form accurately they tell you on the form that they will not use the data for anything else.
Giving the data to over agencies (even if they are part of the "government") underminds the trust (if they ever had it) of the government. The government is supposed to be of the people and for the peole not into being their big brother.
If people cannot trust the government then next census people will probably lie on the form so that the government doesn't use their private information. Having people lie on the census cannot benfit the government in the long run
I have used the gimp before to do some complex image manipulations and found that it was either my knowledge of the program that was lacking or possibly the program itself. I have been meaning to find a book that could show me how to do some of the slick things you can do with other tools. Or at least other cool things that make up for it. I have always been very impressed with what the gimp can do and wanted to use it better.
