To anyone who thinks a Japanese Game Show is "serious" needs to get their head examined, and as a Therapy I suggest actually signing up for a few of them. I'm sure that will fix your point of view.
I prefer the clearly dubbed versions of Godzilla to anything made to "resemble" Godzilla. G4s version of Ninja Warrior holds onto the same cheezy camp that makes a Godzilla Dub intriguing. The "American" Ninja Warrior doesn't hold the same level of camp that only can be done via a dub. Maybe if they took American Ninja Warrior and dubbed it in Japanese they would be able to enjoy the same level of camp we do with Sasuke.
Years ago I would have agreed with your comment. However, the word Vaccine is being used in a context that wasn't apart of your High School Biology or maybe even College. Try this from the CDC. See the word Vaccine being used in relation with a Bacteria so the word Vaccine has Evolved beyond just a preventative measure for a Virus, and now means a Preventative Measure for a Disease. They weren't using that Vaccine in that fashion ether since it's not used in the US unless you're going into a diseased area like Florida. Now for that uncomfortable day when the CDC and "others" show up. This will be an uncomfortable day.
Yep, we just need the good old CDC and Health Departments that actually ensured everyone got a Small Pox Vaccine. My Evil half just wants this to result in a highly contagious version that is Antibiotic Resistant and make it so everyone has to get the TB Vaccine. The irony of a disease coming into existence from this kind of nieve plot to kill innocent people. Really, the "Lets do nothing and let the Poor Die" plan doesn't work. Then again a lot of people will have to die for us just to relearn the lesson that Small Pox taught us.
A whole commented class file for what? 1 line of code. Why would I comment something that should look like System.getProperty("os.name"); It's over coding like this that makes OOP worthless.
I'd be more worried if you tried to play with less than a gig of ram. The game actually does take up more then 1 gig and will start thrashing your hard drive with virtual memory if you do what you're suggesting.
Convenient. So all they have to do is make claim X, and when it comes time to reviling it all they have to do is claim Disgruntled employee Y deleted the data to claim X. If they had just released it rather than sit on it and try to build hype then they wouldn't have lost it because all the drones who mindlessly copy their data for them.
Hmm, there was an issue with the 1.0.2 patch. They started doing Warden scans and in Wine the reported Ram is exactly what the system has. Kicked Diablo into an infinite loop if you have a 64bit OS. See bug . I can't help but think that some of the "work arounds" may have triggered a false positive. Then again since I had this issue maybe I should log-in and see if I'm banned, but their probably doing maintenance right now since it's Tuesday.
How about games like Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden (excluding 3), and other more Timing based games where a small timing mistake is a nice big game over. You could rewrite them to be more forgiving but gamers didn't exactly like Ninja Gaiden 3 being watered down so that anyone and their grandma could play. Typical FPS have a lot of built in slack designed around latency driven environment. Back when FPS were LAN only they were a lot less forgiving. In the end things like Halo feel like you're moving though mud compared to games in the prior Lan only generation.
If my controller cant respond because of random latency issues I won't use their service. How they are planning to address latency would be more important to me. Games like Arkham Asylum and City only work because the you don't need fine controller actions to play. My brother can competently play while looking away from the screen and just clicking the mouse at random. Real games that require real timing and control don't work well when latency is involved.
Yea, the CCA wouldn't have allowed the dark Batman to see the light of day. And that just makes Uslans claim all the more weird. He wouldn't have seen much of a difference between Campy 60's Batman TV and Campy 60's Batman Comics. If he thinks he's being honest then he's twisted his memories around to fit his world view.
Downshifting only works if you're in a Manual and if you're going down hill that's not going to work very well ether. You can still gain far too much speed even in 1st gear when gravity is what is powering your car. Downshifting helps but not enough when you've hit 80 on a mountain pass and just found out your breaks don't work and their is a 40 mph turn ahead with a nice cliff if you don't make it.
And even tough I drive a Manual now and can downshift just fine. Just how am I supposed to downshift in a SHO Torus when it's an Automatic? My SHO is the car my breaks went out on.
The E-Brake is supposed to be a separate system from your hydrolic breaks which is why the hand break requires a lot more effort to pull then just pressing down a peddle. I've had my breaks go out before and the E-Break continued to function. It's a pain to use and isn't intended to be used long term. Modern systems usually have better hydrolic breaks so the odds that you'll be in a situation where the E-Break is needed in an actual emergency is low, but that's what its original purpose is for.
As for the manual it's still an E-Break, and if you look at the Idiot lite it usually till has a Bright Bang and a P. The Bang is for Emergency and the P is for Park and the car I drive is less than 4 years old so I doubt much has changed.
Have you ever driven down a mountain road, or a mountain pass? Imagine a 10 mile stretch of road all down hill, and then imagine your breaks not working. In that situation your E-Brake is your only hope to live. If you're lucky there is a runaway truck ramp nearby otherwise... pray.
Chomsky is confused. Every hacker, and computer geek knows, or at least should know, that this guy is a lier. I'd hardly call the opinions of the average Slashdotter the opinion of an Industry Insider. More like Industry Anarchist.
Actually the headline is a typical news headline stated as a questions. So the answer is always no.

Hopefully they improve it before this gets worse. Otherwise, lots of death.

Wine wouldn't work on it anyways.

And that kind of think is what has lead to the rash of easy casual games. Now where did I put that ointment.

Easy, give Ada Lovelace the credit she is due and stop giving Turning all the credit. He certainly deserves some but not all of it.
You do know that the Wii and PS3 are not made in the US or Europe and sell far above 1k units a week in both markets?
Competitive? They don't even sell 1k a week in Japan.
For the same reason your bank reports to the IRS any transaction over 10,000
If it operates like the Preview Version then you have to tap the upper right hand corner to bring up the metro ui.
Windows 7?! If that IE icon was the Windows Start Button
