Not mainframes, more clusters. All the stuff used for reconciliation and position management uses pure integer and fixed point maths. Market makers like pushing floating point numbers around, but that's just for quick profit calculations when doing the trades. At the end of the day, everything's reconciled with precise maths.
The vast majority of non-nerds need a PC at work to perform their job function. Often it ultimately boils down to data entry or inventory control. It's neither content consumption nor content creation - these labels only really apply to specific industries.
The important cities got a bit longer;) Possibly to allow time to replace common antenna distribution systems in apartment and office buildings with more digital-friendly kit.
Well, on a good night I can tune Wollongong digital channels from Elizabeth Bay. I could never get Wollongong analog channels at all. But it's very much all-or-nothing - either I get Wollongong or I don't, never get a snowy but watchable picture. I don't actually have a digital-capable TV, only a USB tuner that I rarely use. I don't really miss TV.
It's a funny thing, one girl developer I know is far more introverted and anti-social than me. She has to be almost dragged to social events, spends weekends in her bedroom gaming, and would rather communicate with a chain of e-mails than do a phone call.
It isn't. Apple acquired PA Semi a few years back, whose main claim to fame was designing low-power PPC cores. The two most recent generations of the iPhone/iPad SoC have used ARM cores designed in-house by former PA Semi employees. It isn't used in any other devices. But I think you're missing my point - the CPU performance isn't even close to the top of my list of priorities for a mobile phone.
Could you save us some time and link to some of them? I'm guessing Toyota's LC70 Landcruiser and some other commercial workhorse type vehicles would be there...
I use a Galaxy S3, and I hate iOS and its locked-down ecosystem, but your comparison of select numbers doesn't tell the whole story. Android typically needs more RAM than iOS for the same tasks because the app platform requires JIT compilation and garbage collection. These developer conveniences come at a cost. Also, clock for clock the new Apple CPU cores outperform the more popular ARM cores by a pretty wide margin. You need to compare a real-world task rather than core count or clock speed. That said, I still think my Galaxy S3 is objectively better because it can do circuit-switched video calls, scan directories on an SD card for photos/music, side-load apps, and have its firmware upgraded/downgraded painlessly over USB. Clock speed and RAM don't even come into it.
...Anyone can create a bitcoin address, and get someone else to send it to them...
I don't see how you can jump through these hoops when paying hookers. They want cash in their hand, or an electronic payment that can be verified on the spot.
But if you're worried about your wife finding out you're frequenting the hookers, the only thing she needs to find is the wallet the 'coin was in immediately before it ended up in the hooker's/brothel's wallet. She just needs to see a (you, hooker) sequence. It doesn't matter where the 'coin goes after that, and the hookers could easily be keeping all the information on which wallets they were paid from before they transfer the 'coins onwards. I'll keep paying for hookers with cash, thank you very much.
Bitcoin is far more traceable than cash - each coin keeps its entire transaction history. Silk Road tried to do something about that with the way it would slice up all the payments and randomly assign them, so the net result was correct but it was unlikely (much of) your bitcoin went to the actual vendor you bought from. You're unlikely to have this kind of protection at a point of sale, so you're far more anonymous paying that hooker with banknotes.
I wouldn't want to go there. I prefer to have three cards - it would be too easy to forget to switch to the correct account, or fuck it up when you're half drunk. Also you'll never be able to use this with ICC/Chip&Pin as the systems are designed to make it impractically difficult to extract the keys.
Yaw means "no", roll means affirmative, as in agreement - not quite the same as yes, as it still signifies agreement with a negative statement/question. e.g. a) "Are you a meat popsicle?" roll is affirmative, I am a meat popsicle (English equivalent answer is "yes" in this case) e.g. b) "You're not a meat a meat popsicle are you?" roll is affirmative, I am not a meat popsicle (English equivalent answer is "no" in this case) It's like "hai" in Japanese.
The Australian property situation is concerning, and rather depressing if you're looking to get into the market. But to call it the "mother-of-all property bubbles" isn't fair. It's nothing on the Japanese asset bubble in the early '90s, and probably not as bad as what's going on in HK now.
Actually it does. That's how we track down compiler bugs, and also how we backtrack from crash location to look for the cause when we have a core from an optimised build.
Yes, we should start jailing therapists. Their extortionate "professional rates" suck the lifeblood out of the economy. People would be better off spending this money on hookers and gigolos who give guaranteed relief. Oh wait, not "therapists" but "the rapists". Well, if people were more inclined to hire hookers, that problem could be solved, too!

I doubt anyone appreciated that - she's nasty. Well maybe she'd be hot in Toowoomba, but let's not go there.

And battery - running the GPU harder sucks juice fast on Android phones.

Shills and fanbois. Google has lots of both here.

That only makes it weirder - he plans to watch for a satellite launch while murdering his friend?!?!?!?

A Bud? Why not have a beer instead? (Unless you're talking about smoking bud, but then you wouldn't have capitalised it...)

Wut? They later came out and said it was xenon - displace air, lower partial pressure of oxygen, make people pass out.
You and that cold fjord guy should totally hook up. You've got so much in common, I'm sure you'd hit it off straight away.

It's like "hai" in Japanese.
So much for all that advice to get your grandma onto Linux.
