uhm... well then the 0.1% of computer geeks that i know must be the exception to your rule. my friends and myself are into more things than computers. yes, computers are our primary interest... but we are more well rounded than you might think. our other interests include japanese culture, anime, fantasy, blowing things up and long walks on the beach.
and the web design thing? wtf did you get that from? most web designers love their computers and irc/chat like the best of us about computer things.
maybe you should find a better survey to pull your information from
html code cant be "owned". its not like the code cant be duplicated by someone else. code for anything is available on the web and in books. by sharing code we can make it better. its kindof like open source.
this isnt new information. i remember these theories being taught in my third grade history class. the relationship between birds and dinosaurs has always been a debate, but is now a generally accepted theory. you might as well post something about the evolution of man being related to apes because i learned nothing new here:-P
read jurrasic park, its more informative than the article
its kindof hard to read an article if you dont have access to it
thats kindof cool, because money is what progresses technology... but ibm will end up *owning* nanotech, and will create a monopoly out of the hardware, like pentium has done with their processors
im so sure technology improvements (like pI II III) come systematically and annually, coincidently after you upgrade to the previous chip
i think its very important for younger students to learn UNIX, wether is be Linux or Solaris or any other platform. Many if not most colleges and universities run primarily UNIX and Macintosh's. Having a prior knowledge of these environments would accelerate the average students' learning capabilities and help them become less windowz reliant.
most systems (if not all ) in the science and health professions are already running UNIX based shells. excluding MIT and Harvard, take smaller more prominent universities like Carneigie Mellon and Duquesne University (both in pittsburgh) for example. other than the use of NT in computer labs for the students to work on projects with... all of the quantitative and qualitative analysi are done with UNIX, SGI, or SPARC. its just the path for the future. as our society becomes more scientificly centered, the use of these machines increases. prior knowledge of these machines would make or break a job employment oppertunity (less training, more money saved).
its a great idea... just as long microsoft doesnt go and change the standard to fit their lazy needs
"We have spied on that in the past. I hope... that the United States government continues to spy on bribery." why is the united states so concerned with the morals and ethics of other countries when our own country is in a pretty low state of mind. lets try to get our welfare and medicare programs improved before we pay 007 to give us unside information if the queen of england is getting a little *something* for the key to the castle. "European companies had a "national culture" of bribery..." we have a national culture of rape and suicide. does that mean we should throw everyone who has said "im going to kill myself" in a looney bin or arrest perverts and right-hand reliant, sexually deprived males? or does this mean we should all buy alot of cool surveilance equipment and start private eye buisnesses in our garages?
uhm, i dont ever remember mentioning pirated softwarz or illegal mp3's. napster does not assume the responsibility of the warz it receives. it is the users responsibility to post mp3s that are legally obtained. ok kidz, pirated sofwarz are bad mmmmmkay
with the invention of napster, searching for mp3's on the internet is pointless. why spend all of your time surfing the net for one song when you can hop on napster and get three or four with one search? robertson is just trying to utilize the internet trademark holes to bring users to his site via popular URL names in which users may think the trademark owns. how many people pay for their websites by advertising and banners? with things like alladvantage and dialpad, advertising can bring in a nice revenue. if traffic is increased on a site like the way is has on mp3.com because of the misdirected traffic, a nice little profit could be turned out. i feel bad for the poor college students whose universities ban napster and force them to use such methods as mp3.com to get their music.

"...almost Gnostic sensibility..." hah. thats only because 99.9% of computer geeks were or still are into the fantasy/d&d trend.
