    The Supreme Court will then overturn these knee-jerk laws.

    sniff-sniff, sorry but I smell crackpot, just becasue he's smart in business (glass for auto industry at right time) doesn't automatically make him a good inventor.

    On the flip side, I've known a number of excellent inventors, who were/are lousy businessmen.

    If I have (a) a lot of Vinyl which I (nearly) love more than life itself; and (b) have a lot of disposable income; then I am probably over 50 and lead a fairly quiet life

    I could be some old horn-dog in Las Vegas, driving a big finned Cadillac, and dating ShowGirls [and make them listen to my old vinyl collection while pointing to all the pictures on the walls of me with celebrities]

    I dont think so

    The combo of developing HW/SW under one roof (Sun,IBM) gives a magnitude of compatibility not available otherwise ... which in turn *usually* leads to highter reliability.

    yup, 1/4", half-track, 30 IPS if I remember correctly [the 1970's is a long way back] but the damn tape is so dirty you need to clean the heads every 30-60 playing minutes.

    If we're talking fairly new Vinyl, aren't they cut from Digital recording studios?

    I should have said they like hiring ex-military, cus they view them as cheap and know how to take orders.

    I heard this from managers, this mostly applies to NOCs.

    Mine was meant to be a comment on Worldcom, not (ex) military.
