I thought Clinton and Bush were skilled liars/deceptors, but Obama makes them look like amateurs.
I dunno, it doesn't get any more amateurish than this. It's blatantly obvious to anyone who looks what a turncoat authoritarian bastard this mother fucker is. And yet people still fall for it.
Obama directed the DOJ not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act. He could do the same with any other law. This is why his argument that "we have to enforce the law" when it comes to Cannabis dispensaries is entirely bankrupt.
In that situation, we put the Justice Department in a very difficult place if we're telling them, "This is supposed to be against the law, but we want you to turn the other way." That's not something we're going to do.
That's not a difficult place at all, and entirely within his powers as the chief law enforcement officer in the country. He has the power to set priorities for federal law enforcement, including priorities of zero.
If you're someone who wants to laud Obama for his Civil Rights record, ask yourself how many gay people there are in jail for being gay. Then ask yourself how many Cannabis smokers there are in jail. Why not attack the bigger problem first?
If he wanted to reject those provisions, he could've appealed to a court literally the minute he signed it.
If he wanted to reject those provisions, he should have vetoed it. Actually, if he wanted to adhere to his oath to uphold the Constitution, he is required to veto it. But he didn't, so we know how much an oath is worth to Barack Obama.
What about Obama's signing statement in which he decried the very power he was accepting by signing the NDAA? Do you mean to tell me Obama was dishonest in his disapproval of infinite detention? Shocking.
The crazy thing is some people actually bought the argument that this clause was forced on him by Congress. The fact that he's defending it in court makes it absolutely clear what his stance on infinite detention is.
Then, of course, there is my federal income taxes that are also used to fund our military presence in the Middle East and elsewhere, that ensure that I can put gas in my tank which is required to get me to work, my kids to school, and allows my family to have the occasional family outing. You know, actually live free and enjoy that freedom.
Because your ability to carpool your kids to school is more important than the lives of innocent Iraqis, gotcha.
On Mint, the official procedure is to backup you files/settings using the backup tool, install the newer version from scratch on top of the existing install, and then restore the backup after. That's just too cumbersome.
How did they screw up 'apt-get dist-upgrade' so badly? Why are all these Debian derivatives so much crappier than Debian? What's the point then?
Well congratulations. What do you want, a cookie? Oh wait, I guess not.
Your free time is limited, you are making a tradeoff whether you want to admit it or not. Since you like exercising, you're not going to be very bothered by that tradeoff. Since I don't like exercise, I'm going to find that tradeoff objectionable.
It's not that hard to understand. Not everyone likes the same things. I particularly dislike the idea of spinning my wheels for the sake of spinning my wheels. Last summer when the Missouri river was flooding, I made time to go out and fill sandbags and worked all god damn day because it was the right thing to do. But fuck me if I'm going to lift a finger when there's no actual work to be done. I have better ways to spend my time.
Who said anything about being a drain on society? I work and pay taxes and support arts and entertainment in my community. If I spent my time sculpting my bod, that's time I won't have to visit new restaurants, see new bands, listen to lectures, read books, etc. Doing any of those things 2 hours a week will do more for your community than biking or climbing.
You do realize that *all* lifestyles are "dead-end", right?
People tend to have a maniacal focus on weight, as if it's the one true parameter of how healthy you are.
I haven't weighed myself in at least a decade. I'm not dead yet, so I must be doing OK.
Unless you want to end up as a weakling couch potato when you grow old, get out there and get moving! It'll strengthen your bones, too.
I expect to die in my 50s anyway. I really don't care to spend any of the precious little time I have sweating and out of breath. That is, unless I get an orgasm out of it.
And if I don't die early, I'm already accustomed to being a couch potato. So no loss there.
A usual warmup session consists of something like 80-100 burpees in 10 minutes. This is usually followed by plenty of weight lifting, squats, pullups, tractor tire flips and so on. I do this for 2-3 hours a week.
Good god, that sounds awful.
Anyone can dedicate at least 2 hours a week to keeping in shape, think of it as a hobby instead of a penalty. Try kayaking or bicycling or climbing or hiking or whatever strikes you as fun.
If I thought any of that would be fun, I'd be doing it already.
Sounds like a great reason not to use such a phone. As far as I can tell, Maemo 5 hasn't been surpassed by anyone, and isn't going to be any time soon.
People who do biomedical research on mice have to have their research approved by an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). As part of the approval, the researcher has to justify the numbers of animals used. To do that, the researcher performs a power analysis, matching the number of animals to the experimental design.
If you actually look into power analysis you might be surprised at how few animals you need. It's certainly not the case that you can just look at the sample size and declare them "a bit slim" without carefully examining the experimental design.
A modest 5k run will take around half an hour. Not eating that candy bar and soda will take you zero hours.
I'd suggest that it's the time, more than the effort, that makes people not exercise. If I could spend some of the time I spend working, exercising without losing pay, I would. I'm not going to spend my free time doing anything I don't want to do.
But as any Android developer will tell you, taking something that runs on a Linux desktop and getting it on Android - making it function properly, getting it to look good, and getting it to interface with the Android UI - it really hard, tedious work.
That's some really fucking sick shit there. People need to realize that law enforcement and the justice system victimize more people than they protect.

It does, but the game keeps going. There is no bottom to the dungeon, nor limit on how high you can level your character.

So, the take away message is, "don't give this book to your creationist relations, it won't help"?

As tired as you might be of pirate whatever, I'm about a thousand times more tired of mainstream corporate whatever.
You have a pretty poor imagination.
When the entire content of TPB is available as a small archive of magnet links, hosted on numerous sites around the world, what's the point of a DDOS?
Obviously this competent, experienced jurist should have recused himself because of this conflict of interest.

Far too many Americans are simply not active.
It's a lot easier to refrain from eating 400 calories than it is to burn off 400 calories.
The equations describe an average person, who doesn't exist.
Sweet! I'm above average.
