Is it played on foot? Does it have a ball?

You should be glad that every game played with a ball while on foot (rather than mounted) isn't called football. I would say that American football is much more of a real man's sport than European football though, so it is debatable which one is the real football.

I imagine the brown plants that the science teacher comments on seeing had more to do with herbicides than with solar radiation being stolen by the panels.

I mean, why not just build a Ringworld, complete with Sun propulsion system.

The Ringworld had no propulsion system. I am not sure where this comment comes from, but this is not the first time I have seen this exact comment. The Ringworld used solar wind in fusion thrusters to maintain its position relative to the sun, but that isn't propulsion. The only propulsion that was used in the Ringworld series was a FTL drive using superconductors in the floor of the Ringworld, but that couldn't be considered Sun propulsion.

If you want a sun powered propulsion method, the Bowl of Heaven books by the same author (Niven) uses propulsion from artificially generated solar eruptions put through a magnetic constriction to produce propulsion.

Trying to be helpful and teach people the proper words that are used in certain situations is arrogant now? This board is frequented by many people who don't speak English as a first language, and often make mistakes without realizing it. I feel it is helpful to point out those mistakes as they prevent people from appearing uneducated in the future.

If you are going to foe me for me trying to help you with a common mistake, that is your choice, it doesn't bother me one bit.

  13. The car dealership in this story is being held responsible because there was a contract (verbal or paper, it doesn't matter) that stated they would take care of the decals, and they did not do that. Because they didn't do it, it caused this man's business irreparable harm, which was the reasoning behind him asking them to remove the decals in the first place. It doesn't matter if it is ISIS, or if it was a teenager getting in a massive accident with the decals still there, it was foreseeable that selling the car on with a business's decals could cause harm to the business. In this case, it also involves death threats due to the ISIS angle, but I am not sure that even figures into the $1 Million figure, as that could easily just be damage to the business's reputation. I didn't see anywhere that the size of the plumbing company was indicated, it could easily be a 10 man (or larger) operation, in which case, it would be entirely possible to cause a million worth of damages to the company.

Also, the current administration has mainly highlighted the need to negotiate with your political rivals, by refusing to negotiate, which has caused most of the recent problems you would point to as broken. Politics is about negotiating, when the President goes on TV to complain how he won't negotiate with the terrorists in congress, what you should translate that to is "I don't want to do my job, it is hard and they don't agree with me on every thing".
