Ok I am no m$ fan. I am the exact opposite most times.
However I think M$ is doing a good thing by bringing the first legal large music sharing forum ( still mired by DRM I must admit), but this is a great first move.
I cannot believe we have to knock them for everything.
"Net neutrality" will be pass, as lawmakers would not want to appear "not-neutral". On the other hand if the bill was called, "internet expedited service" bill, lawmakers will feel whole lot differently about it.
Just my 2 cents and hunch

AMD Operton - Doesn't that run on Nucular energy ?
This sentence offends me the most. If "searching for pop stars" is stated as a fact, then its ok. However if this is given as a rationale to filter democracy search results, I can't think of a more stupid and offensive reasoning.
What is interesting to me is not that they are making a new version of Linux. It is the possibility of Google pack tools, being ported over to Linux. If this is true, their plithora of tools provided by google might finally start working on Linux (read: Any Linux). Tools like google-Earth, desktop search(GDS), picasa are sure welcome:)
I would not be surprised if somebody in Intel says the M$ magic word 'Total Cost of Ownership' next. Isnt that what M$ said after trying to run benchmarks against Linux.
I know this sounds like apples and oranges, but all they have to say is Intel processors have lesser TCO than AMD.
Its one of those things that nobody can substantiate or refute.
Agree. Apparently Longhorn will use the video ram in both directions. That is Video Card -> CPU and CPU -> Video Ram. The former is pretty fast with AGP and not the later. If you want the later to work you are better off with PCI-E. Hence Longhorn will force the adoption of PCI-E.
If supporting due process and accountability is a "leftist" position then I'm a pinko-eco-terrorist and your a baby-eating facist from the ministry of information.
They always seem to find my shaving cream bottle ... never have managed to sneak it through :(

All I want to know is if I can break my 2 year contract with Cingular because of this.
They broke the contract too. They probably released my private information to the govt...

Didn't you guys see "V for Vendetta" over the weekend ?
The real question is : what happens to wire taps ? Does this invalidate the wire taps, or this just another hinderance that wire taps can look past ?

In other news .. flogging a dead horse, to cost 10 billion dollars.
Freenet is really slow. Tor is not quite that bad. A lot of times its pretty usable.
Does anyone have it running on your desktop ?
Here the intelligent folks ... who brought intelligent design to Kansas.

I wonder if writing to them would change their minds. I wouldn't count on it, however it might be worth a try.
I just sent a verbose message to Maria Cantwell. I urge everybody to take immediate action on this.

Dont know if my news tip will get picked up. These things should not be sneaked in.
