I don't like or dislike the term. I dislike the use of scientific research to strong arm a political agenda for either party in this system. Let the scientists do their job, then make rational informed decisions on the outcome. That, evidently, is a hard thing to do these days.
amen. as a federal sector person myself, I honestly am amazed that any branch of the government functions at all. Fraud, waste and abuse are at every level-mostly due to the bureaucracy. They'll shove that data into some database, build a "new and improved" proprietary frontend for Oracle (check that-they'll contract it out, take the "lowest" bid, and spend the next five years patching it into oblivion), and browbeat the probies rounded up to operate it when all it can produce is that Americans buy lots of beer and that Hoover was a cross-dresser.
not that I'm a bitter federal employee managing a POS database or anything...
Does anyone else find it interesting that Germans would want to play a game where the main goal is to waste Germans, regardless of their terrible ideological stance? I find it odd that it's just the swastikas they are objecting to...But then, it's just a game, right?
On a side note (don't have a linky), I had a friend stationed in Germany that talked about the pet ownership laws. Depending on the breed of dog, there are building codes for the exact size of dog house required for the breed, which are part of the licensing and inspection process. Guess the moral of the story is the Germans sure like their laws.
true- of course in most rural areas of the day the "philosophical" approach to steering in the model t would perhaps just ruin a fence or two and startle the cattle.:)
The Dymaxion car was a concept car designed by U.S. inventor and architect Buckminster Fuller during 1933. The word Dymaxion is a brand name that Fuller gave to several of his inventions, to emphasize that he considered them part of a more general project to improve humanity's living conditions. The car had a fuel efficiency of 30 miles per US gallon (7.8 L/100 km; 36 mpg-imp). It could transport 11 passengers. While Fuller claimed it could do speeds of 120 miles per hour (190 km/h), the fastest documented speed was 90 miles per hour (140 km/h). not bad for a 30's car and a V8 (albeit an 84hp V8).
Now THAT'S a name that means quality. Say it a couple of times with a slightly chilled gin and vermouth resting idly in one hand and a fag in the other.
Or we see "OpenDirectX 11"
Thus the reason for the quotations :). We Yanks still aren't using a decent measuring standard outside of scientific circles.
Monopoly, American style!
Seriously, O Canada, don't emulate us on this one. America needs the "Crazy Uncle" to the north to provide some alternatives to business as usual.
I am guessing there isn't quite enough to make a working atmo, but perhaps enough at least to support a mining colony. I agree-time to go!
offtopic?! try funneh!

I wish- at least in jail you get 3 hots and a cot... :)

The newspeak term for that now is "global climate change".
A re-education officer will be along shortly to your location.
But that is AWESOME!
Would have been funnier if they had sat down at a computer and fired up a game of DopeWars...
What about Round Up ready Corn?! http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Monsanto_and_the_Roundup_Ready_Controversy

I think that KBR would disagree with your assertation.
yes :(
says YOU... :) It's the difference between a Rolex and a Folex-subtle, but there nonetheless.
Why not make it mandatory to label surgically altered models also? I want to know the boobies I look at are all natural.
KOTOR and KOTOR 2. That is all.
Me too :( they keep telling me I'm asking for it, the way I google so provocatively. They tell me to struggle...I'm so ashamed *sob*
What? I thought this was the Brian Eno thread
I thought Volkswagen made the Rabbit...
mod previous redundant; benadryl+monday=dull-eyed mouthbreathing replies.
seriously. I need a nap.
At some point in every sector of our economy we will need to address these large bloated corporations. They're slow to innovate, slow to penetrate.
