  1. DIRECTV users left out in cold on TiVo Home Media Rollout · · Score: 5, Informative

If you are a DIRECTivo user - a DIRECTV user with a TiVo2 box you do not get these features. TiVo has offered them to DIRECTV, but DIRECTV doesn't seem to want them. I'll keep my TiVo1 series box until DTV gets on the ball. When I can get these new features I'll buy two TiVo2 boxes!

    BEFORE YOU START
Please make sure you have read the HELP section on this site before you start playing. It explains all the controls, and you'll find lots of other valuable information there too.

One more thing. Once playing, please avoid using foul language, it won't be appreciated by most people. Besides, why risk the chance of getting banned from the site for life? Don't forget, if you find someone to be annoying, you can always ignore that player by clicking on that character.

Software is no different than any other manufactured product, says Parasoft CEO Adam Kolawa, and companies waste resources and lower quality by treating software as a work of art.

Okay, so $50 is great but can they be used for anything but hacking the sucker?

I've already got an Audrey and a MSN Companion to hack - I just wanna play games online with my Dreamcast. Can I still do that or is this a waste of $50?

  7. A Better Service Is 2Checkout.com on Online e-Commerce Issues w/ PayPal? · · Score: 1

It's not free but it's a much better service for both the merchant and the consumer. It's $50 to join and then $.50 per transaction plus 5%. You get a real shopping cart - real items - calculated tax, shipping, etc.

    Works great, instant setup...

  13. Should I open mine? VPN on Free Wireless For Fun And / Or No Profit · · Score: 1

I have an 802.11b compliant access point running on a DSL line. I'd love to open it up to public use, but I have one concern. It's on a VPN to my office.

Would using DHCP and then setting the router to not allow those IPs to use the VPN be a safe way to do it?

  14. You don't need to do this on DirecPC USB Satellite Modems Available for Linux · · Score: 1

You don't need to get this. Here is what our Linux customers do:

Install DirecPC on a Wintel system. Use proxy software from Helius or WinRoute and you can have the fast DirecPC access on your Linux (or Mac, or whatever) box.

As a side note, you won't need to use the phone line for an upload when the Two-Way system comes it. And it'll be here very very shortly!

Tell Me has a product called Studio that might do the trick. You are given an extension. Users call 800-555-Tell and say "Extensions" and then your extension, like "12345". It uses VoiceXML and is very cool. TMBG might get too much usage to qualify for the free version though.

I find it helps to stop and pray, even if just for a minute. I lean back in my chair, put my feet up on my desk and ask God for inspiration. It's helped me out of blocks many times. Of course, I liked the comment about becoming a sys admin too. :) I actually do both so when I get tired of one I do the other. It's 4:30 AM here in CA and I've been coding an inventory proggy since 10 AM. At 1 PM I get a break to install a frame relay!
