  1. Re:Try Windows 7? on XP Users Are Willing To Give Windows 7 a Chance · · Score: 1

As a former XP x64 user, I was quite happy with it for a long time... Until a particular vendor which is not easily compared to oranges decided to prevent it's media player from installing... Which caused me a bit of suffering.

That was fine until other vendors started doing similar checks in their installer and started telling me that I couldn't install on an unsupported OS. I caved, installed Vista.. had to manually install Service Packs since Windows Update didn't seem to have the capability to install them...

I now have Windows 7 x64. My adventures with the RC were positive enough that it wasn't much effort to give Vista the finger and move on.

    Boo mods.

You mean, other than vote for someone besides these F ups? Better yet, you could run for office yourself as a representative. If you make your constituents happy, then you can move onto the Senate and really get the ball rolling.

I used to work in this area, and I provided this to my clients even if they didn't ask for it. If I were looking to outsource, I'd certainly make sure that I had the ability to rip it back. Even if I trust the outsourcing company completely, which is requirement #0 in my book, I want to make sure that my company stays my company.

Pardon my ignorance. I have a lot of it. What is the advantage of having flash memory in a keyboard? I remember that the keyboard (at least at one time, I don't know if that's still the case) used an interrupt call to process input... But the load the keyboard placed on system resources should be so low, that there wouldn't be a need to offload that right? I have to be missing something here. It seems to me that by having something like this, you're just begging for trouble since it opens another attack surface. Anywhere you have processing and memory is a place for malware to reside. This doesn't impress me much Apple.

This study indicates that your blanket statement isn't quite true. The link indicates that in the first few years organic output does tend to be markedly lower. With proper organic techniques, however, the yields increased in those areas, and in some cases exceeded the conventional farming technique.

Organic farming, IMHO, has its place. In fact, your statement that "You cannot be against world hunger and for organic foods" is just plain wrong. In the third world countries, where fertilizer isn't really in the budget, organic methods greatly increased yields. It might be worth re-evaluating your stance.

If anything, based on the statements presented, I'd argue that the disparity in females is widening between the attractive and heifer. Attractive women, of course, can attract more males. There's a certain set of unattractive women who are particularly successful in attracting males by merely going out of their way to "get what they can." There are also a fair number of males out there merely trying to accomplish the same thing, and will lower their standards to accomplish that too.
