I remember seeing an article last year about Solar paint. Meaning, you paint the building with this specific paint and it can be used generate clean energy. This was developed in the UK, which is not where I would expect to spend my days sunning on the beach. A team of researchers from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) has developed a paint that can be used to generate clean energy. The paint combines the titanium oxide already used in many wall paints with a new compound: synthetic molybdenum-sulphide. The latter acts a lot like the silica gel packaged with many consumer products to keep them free from damage by absorbing moisture.
According to a report on RMITâ(TM)s website, the material absorbs solar energy as well as moisture from the surrounding air. This looks like a modern version of the OLD X planes. In other words, it is to be used for proving concepts. I still think they are out to correct the complaints about the old SST(Cost per flirght, noise)
I expect that they are a less polluting and more economical solution to supersonic flight. I am not assuming(make an ass out of you(me)), but the SST was very expensive for flights and maintenance.
