I think it's clear from most of these comments that email is dead. However, nobody has commented on the most dead combination you could possibly use: FreeBSD running an email server!! The horror!! Running a dead communications platform on a dead OS is one sure way to invoke armageddon.

  5. Re:My findings on Advocating Dvorak · · Score: 1

I wonder if there is similarities in people's brains that can freely switch between DVORAK and QWERTY at will. I learned DVORAK a few years ago and used it for awhile but I could not type in QWERTY even if I was held at gunpoint and told to do so. I got sick of DVORAK after a little bit and I had to relearn QWERTY. Well sort of, I "learned" the QWERTY style again fairly quickly, but I could certainly not just start typing again with a QWERTY format instantly.

Could someone please explain to me the unlocking system for the retail CD version of the game. I have a 56k modem connection, if I buy the CD version of the game will I be able to unlock it (once the servers are stable) in a reasonable amount of time? What happens when you unlock it, do you have to download a special file or what?

Really, if you can't add 96 + 48 within a few seconds in your head, you've got issues.

I have issues with this statement. Some people actually have trouble doing math in their heads, without the fault of a calculator. For instance I am getting As at my university but I usually need a calculator for what most people would consider simple math because I can't figure it out in my head very quickly. It isn't the fault of the calculator either. Even back in elementary school, when I wasn't allowed to use a calculator, I was still really really horrible at doing math in my head. The calculator doesn't necessarily make someone shitty at math.

  17. Segway on 2003 Vaporware Awards · · Score: 1

Yeah, I know the Segway actually did come out, but I think that there should be a Vaporware hype competition. Basically, a product that was hyped to extremes and didn't meet those extremes when it was finally produced are fair game. The Segway is a really great example of this. I remember reading statements like "It is a product that will change communities and bla bla bla".... Yeah, its changing communities and stuff, sure.
