"It's like your Wi-Fi signal. If you can get a Wi-Fi signal, you'll be able to get power."
Yes, but now we can't get Wi-Fi signal.
Also, how often is the "beacon" signal refreshed? Do I need to stand perfectly still while my device is recharging? Why is my skin peeling?
i5 700 series, though I don't remember which one off hand. And yeah, the heatsink and fan is pretty much a joke. The first couple times I mounted it, the proc seemed to run hot. I just kept scraping and reapplying thermal paste til I got it seated well enough. Usually while gaming it'll climb to 50-52C. I keep an alarm set at 55C and I've never set it off. I keep my apt at around 22-23C. I do have 3 case fans that move a good bit of air and a fan behind my PC to keep air circulating around the room. Most of the noise from my PC is the Twin Frozr fans on my video card. Those things scream like a banshee if you turn up the RPMs.
Obviously I'm not running the same hardware, but I've never pushed my proc over 54C. That's with a stock cooler, lots of RAM, a very mild OC, OCd GPU, and poor cable management. I am, however, always surprised with how quiet my apartment gets on the rare occasion that I turn off my PC.
I guess not. I've never gotten a broken disk. I've had one that was lost in the mail, but I'm pretty sure one of my neighbors grabbed it as it showed up on my door weeks later. I've had a couple that were fairly scratched, but nothing my BD player couldn't handle. My computer, however, usually doesn't recognize a DVD unless it's pristine, so I often have to wipe them down with a wet cloth and try several times before my PC will read them.
Yep. I'm one of the few people I know that still uses Netflix for DVDs. I like the service, but it's already hard to justify the cost. If the price goes up, I imagine people will drop the DVD service en masse.
I was mostly raised by dogs from the time I was 6-15yo. Every day I'd set off into the woods with a pocket knife, a bb gun, and a doberman. I wouldn't come back home til it got dark or I got hungry. I plan to do the same when I have kids. Raise a good dog, then let the dog raise your kid.
Um...that's when the asteroid will be passing close enough. I don't care how motivated we are, I don't think we can ask the asteroid to hurry up and get here.
I guess. So long as it's only used to establish intent to access the system and there's other evidence to prove you weren't authorized. I just fear that our tech illiterate judges will come to interpret an IP block as a revocation of authorization in and of itself. Boils back down to "I am not my IP"
Agreed. If they want to argue that accessing the site was illegal because of the C&D letter, then that's fine. The method of accessing it shouldn't be criminalized. If CL had never even instituted an IP ban and 3taps kept doing what they were doing, it should have made no difference to this case. If I post no trespassing signs but leave the gate open, it's still trespassing. This ruling sets an unnecessary and dangerous precedent.
It's more like this: You go to a store, harass employees and get banned. Security is told not to let that guy in the Slayer shirt back into the store. You then go out to your car, change shirts, and back in past the security guard and start harassing employees again. I'm all for charging you with harassment and trespassing, but it's still not illegal to change your shirt.
Crazy mind-control additives aside, what is the impact (if any) of so many regular condensation trails being woven around the globe? I'm necessarily saying I believe it has an impact of global weather systems, I just like poking hornets' nests.
This just goes to show that "we the people" should make campaign finance reform the really big issue. We should severely limit the amount of money politicians are allowed to spend in order to get elected. Force them all back to grassroots where they have to stand atop their message to be seen. Making PACs illegal would be a good start. I realize we have gawdawful tons of things wrong with this country that need immediate attention, but absolutely nothing constructive will get done as long as our politicians are in someone's pocket. Fix this issue, and just watch the ripples.
Instead of leveling the playing field by making insurance compulsory for everyone, how about we just do away with insurance altogether. Just add up the salaries and bonuses for all those insurance execs and you'll have a good rough estimate of the potential savings. Instead of companies paying increasing premiums each year, pay employees better wages (and I do me employees, not upper management). Maybe we could even concentrate on making health care more affordable. If the hospitals don't have insurance to milk, maybe they won't insist on an MRI for every-damn-thing. We won't need to charge smokers and the obese higher premiums; they'll just have to pay their own damn bills like everyone else. Will this mean some people can't afford the care they need? Absolutely. We should try to keep that to a minimum, but ultimately we could use a bit more Spartan in us. Some people are just born unhealthy. Those people will either be successful enough to pay for the care they need, or die. There's already enough piss in our gene pool. If you want society to take care of you, try being an asset to society.
Does Club Nintendo use unique usernames, or email addresses for login? Someone probably just got a hold of one of those old Facebook or Twitter lists and decided to try those creds here. Most people use the same password for everything. I'm always reminded of this when setting up an account on random gaming forums. Who's to say they aren't just collecting creds and then later trying them on Facebook, Twitter, etc or getting into my game account and sharding my purples.
It wouldn't have to be used just for the "th" sound. It would also save a button when typing words like "butthurt". As I post this, the word "butthurt" has already been used twice in the comments. Think of the time we'll save.

Do I really need to bore you all with my cat flu story again?
This isn't war, silly. It's an "operation".

This makes me a little less proud of the few times I've gotten submissions published.
Reminds me of a YT vid that still scares the shit out of me.
OMG, if this works, maybe Tupac really will come back.

How Daoist?
You're not that likely to get sued for creating a competitive advantage when the company is failing anyway.
A 3m rise in sea level is significant, but will hardly wipe out Florida or California. Check your map before you start building that new condo.
I propose we swiftly adopt the "Hamburg" as a new unit of measurement.
It's still relative.
