Postponing the death of an industry with a huge influx of cash is not just illogical, it's such a stupid idea that only Washington could come up with it. For one, it does not fix the problem. People will still choose electronic media over paper. There is also something to be said for making the country's print media dependant upon the federal government. Print an article blasting the current administration? There goes your funding...
It is a security problem with Ubuntu and should be fixed by their dev team before they are sued for hacking. Afterall, the iPhone was not meant to be connected to anything other than Apple software.
The published top speed is Mach 3.2, but the theoretical (not sure if it's been proven) top speed of a ramjet engine is around Mach 5. The SR-71 used a hybird turbojet/ramjet engine, so assuming the airframe could support it, Mach 5-ish may have been possible.
How do I get in on this? My PS3's BR drive stopped reading disks, I feel perpetrated by that as well and deserve my money back. Plus $10,000 in damages, of course.

Sure, we broke the law and violated people's civil rights... But you can't prove that we violated *your* rights specifically, so you have no case against us.
I'll update my phone to 2.1 when there's a root hack and the Sholes guys put out a ROM. Sholes includes must have stuff like wireless tethering and more than 3 screens. Not to mention overclocking....
Plugging stuff in takes way too long. Park it on your Powermat for a bit and you're done. Or better yet, build roads out of Powermats! How I'm not a billionaire yet I can't understand...
Yes, Google is always the answer:) In fact, the number of 'virtualization' positions I've seen advertised for in the northern va area recently has gone way up....now I see why.
This is what I was getting at, I read about this problem but I'm far too lazy to find a link at the moment. It was a known issue with a recent MS patch, but I don't recall whether it would trash the System32 directory or not. I'd venture to say not since it had to do with a specific.dll or something similar being updated.

The SR-17 had a combo turbojet/ramjet engine, it's forseeable that an updated engine could make the ramjet-scramjet leap.
We're safe now.
Or... you know, maybe not.
This statement alone is enough to disregard the entire article.
Troll? Seriously? It's was a joke... /. needs more coffee this morning.

Who needs viruses and chinese hackers to take down blog sites when you can just use slashdot?

Video games and porn. Steve has undermined half of the reason the internet exists. Not a good move there buddy.
I'm on the Internet so I DON'T have to interact directly with other humans... :(

...this guy could be a leading US space pioneer for the next decade or so.

All that's left to do now is pick curtains for my sea side villa in the Carribean.
In for some way overpriced consulting gigs. :)
Drat. I came here to say this.

I wonder if there is any correlation between the number of PCs that crashed and the number of PCs set to automatically download and install patches...
There will be a huge flood of suddenly accidentally destroyed iPhones... Rooting + Overclocking + custom ROMS > jailbreaking.
Oh wait, that's just Yuri's ass. Yuri put your damn pants back on and get back to work. Crazy Russians always screwing around.
