The big problem with spreadsheets is that they are increasingly being used to implement software, but that the architecture they provide (a matrix of expressions) makes it almost impossible to validate the code.

... which is something which companies like Pwc and KPMG started, with their quick and dirty approach to consulting, in order to save time and margin! It's the same with the PPT slides, which now have took the place of all reports but with way less informative content.

Looks like they could have found a new line of business: give professional advice how to solve the problems generated by their professional advice, whoops... this is the old consulting business model!

I tried it out on the Mozilla MathML torture test [mozilla.org] and it works fine. The only negative is that you need to separately load some math fonts [mozilla.org]... at least on unix.

It's the same on win32, at least with Mozilla RC2 don't know about NS7 but I doubt it's different. What would be cool is that NS installed, by default or with user action, the needed fonts. That'd be a killer for universities people.

In some areas of Italy there's Fastweb which offers for 75 EUR (~66 USD) a month Cable TV, local and national phone calls and Internet connection. That said, I'd settle for just having the colour-coded "new mail" icon with the ability to hover over it and see the sender/title. At the office, where we use Outlook/Exchange Server, one of our guys tried to write a tool that hooked into Outlook and did that a while back. Unfortunately, he found insurmountable problems with the way Outlook's automation and new mail reporting features work. Too bad, as the rest of us were looking forward to him finishing it!

I don't know how many of you US based folks (I'm italian and I live in Italy, at the moment) heard of this movie festival but it's a pretty important festival here in Europe and the movies which get the prizes are usually considered to be high quality movies. I hope this will help animated movies to exit from the ghetto where they are (childish movies) and start being considered only movies; moreover I hope the prize will help the anime to be considered normal movies and not porn or low quality movies.
