As someone else pointed out with the tombstone advertizing, we're in the middle of summer repeats, the new stories will come out with a fall lineup in about two months...
Anyone else feel that the entire article was written as mere fluff to get page views? There was nothing new there, nothing that could even be considered professionally written. It was just a rehash of a brief history of one subset of 3d technology and someone's Star Trek wet dream, but it gets the front page on/.... Why?
If this is to be believed, you would indeed be coloured suprised with less then 10% of the software in the Linux distribution being under the FSF (gnu.org)
Nevermind that Linux was compiled in the past without GCC (Minix anyone?) Please, at least try to be serious.
Remember, do not use a Tivo/VCR to fast forward over ads, you are breaking the implicit contract of getting the content in exchange for viewing ads, you are basically stealing from the broadcaster. Correct? s/site/broadcaster/ from your post, does it still work?
Well, I'm typing this on a Mitsubishi 65903 65 inch 16:9 screen, currently in 1584x540 resolution, but as soon as I get a better shielded cable I'll pop back to 1980x1080... Can't do that on a computer monitor and finde it readable... This new box is targeted to someone like myself who just dropped 1.5k on a Home Theater PC. (PC capable of playing DVDs on a projector/HDTV) Notice it specifically mentions 1080i as an output frequency. If it has a decent dvd decoder/drive combo I'll pick one up and shove it in the rack...

waxwork 2 reference? (If we could only reanimate dead flesh, we'd throw the prosecutions case right out the window!)
