True story: Passing security, my wife had her nail clippers confiscated. As soon as we cleared security, we walked into one of the shops and bought another pair of nail clippers. What was the point of seizing them at security?
Okay, if this is a one time Be A Retard day prank, fine. I can suck it up for one day. But if this is something that/. actually plans to implement then I'll just fucking drop slashdot. Because I'm already subscribed to Ars Technica and about half the sites that/. pulls their news from. And I don't have to jump through bullshit hoops to read them.

A reader can hover over every frame in Watchmen for five minutes if they desire. A reader can dwell over a paragraph for a similar amount of time. A film director simply cannot avail of this kind of engagement in his movie, except in a handful of scenes. It is both a strength and a weakness of film as a medium, but it puts serious limitations on the medium.
Recent innovations in technology has created a solution to this problem. I first learned of it when the Nintendo corporation implemented it in one of it's entertainment systems.
I was always under the impression that the main reason we couldn't make a true perpetual motion machine (one that wasn't constantly being fed electricity) was that friction kept converting the kinetic energy to heat and sound.
Does this mean that science will finally prove my 6th grade science project wrong?

I might get lucky and take out the assassin. Someone in the army of morons would eventually get lucky and take me out.

Hmmm. Ah! No. Ummm. Well... There's always Monster Rancher. Though that's not a movie. That pisses me off, I was practically introduced to anime by SciFi (Vampire Hunter D).

Guess which one gets my buisness.

Assuming they take place in the same universe. Remember in Riding Bean Rally was a blond and in Gunsmith Cats her hair is a much darker shade (either black or really dark brown, it's hard to tell with B&W).
There were only two episodes made of Dragon Half, both of which were put on the same tape by (whoever brought it over, can't think of them off the top of my head). On the other hand, try to get your hands on the manga. There's _a lot_ more covered in there. If nothing else, you'll learn exactly what that little demon kid was talking about when he said they cut his part out. I want The Godslayer of Hitpoints

I think the reason we still use the good old 0 and 1 system is because it's the hardest to mis-read.
When you get into 0 through 7 or even 0 through 2 instead of 0 through 1, you get an increased chance of blurring because all these different values have to fit in the same magnetic/electrical/optical range. An error that would cause a 4 to be read as a five probably wouldn't even affect a binary system.
Of course, there's also the minor matter of backwards compatability...
Yes. In America, you can sue anyone, at anytime, for anything. If I want to sue you because your socks don't match (and it doesn't matter if they do or not), I can. Of course, any judge with four or more working braincells would immediately throw my case out, and hopefuly throw my ass in jail if he ever saw me in his courtroom again.
I think the question answers itself.

It'd serve many people well to have a little understanding of the properties of numbers.

For the first eighteen years of my life, all I could do was exercise my right to free speech and complain about our government.
Someone did. Masamune Shiro wrote Ghost in the Shell in book (manga) format long before it became a one shot anime.
