You don't seem to understand that the people in charge may know that the horrible acts (wars, crusades, suicide bombings, witch trials) are for power or political purposes that's not what their followers believe. They make big campaigns using propaganda against their own people twisting their faith. The followers, the people that actually committed the acts do it out of faith believing it would bring them and their cause closer to their god.
The problem with only taxing what you buy is that the rich only need to spend a fraction of their total income a year on goods and services. Which means only a fraction of their total earnings are getting taxed. The millions of middle to lower class citizens would in turn be paying a higher % of there earned income in taxes because they have to spend a much higher % to survive.

Yeah but its just like going shopping. You learn that trying to go grocery shopping right at the begining of the month is hectic. (with people getting food stamps usually around them (me being someone who does) or getting paid around then) so you wait until its not as crowded. Chances are these quick charge areas will be at gas stations and not at your own house so if you see a crowded gas station you either wait your turn or find a less crowded station just like its always been.
Hey if a transformer can start our as a Volkswagen Beetle and then change into even a Jeep that would upgrade its abilities and be able to do knew things.

Your assuming that in a city of 10,000 people over 8% will be charging at a time. With the charge time of 6mins I highly doubt that.
