In case you're too dense (I've been reading Debian-devel for about 9 months, and just figured it out 30 seconds ago:), 'see shy jo' is an anagram for 'joey hess':).
There's already APT, which is awesome - 'apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade' goes and updates your ENTIRE INSTALLED SYSTEM (except for kernel and non-Debian packages).
Installing individual packages is trivial - 'apt-get install PACKAGENAME'. And if you want the source, just do 'apt-get source PACKAGENAME'.
There are a number of frontends for apt, such as Gnome-Apt (not sure whether it's still under development, or orphaned), Aptitude, Console-Apt, StormPkg, and Corel's get_it.
It can take hours to find an entire album (I just finished ripping my entire CD collection, and I couldn't rip any of some CDs because they were too damaged). I probably would have just bought it again for $0.20/song.
I (well, my brother, but that's beside the point:) have Matchbox 20's "Yourself or Someone like You". It is so damaged (by a POS CD-holder) that I can not read it with cdparanoia, and it skips like crazy on a CD player.
I was watching one of the VERY early X-Files episodes, the one where there's this Amish-type group in Massachusetts which turns from male to female (and vice versa) when they have sex - and Krycek (or at least the actor who played him) was one of the people who was suckered by the rogue member of this cult:).
I've been watching McGyver lately (they show reruns on WGN, and I don't have much to do because school's out), and it's a really neat show - but he ALWAYS seems to build a bomb in each episode. Either that or disarm one. Kinda cool tho...
This is a bit off-topic, but I've been looking around on the web a bit and I haven't managed to find one. Is there such thing, and if not, what toolkit would you recommend? PerlMagick or what?
It doesn't have to be a GIMP or anything that complex, just have the feature set of, say, Windows Paint or equivalent (but with support for jpeg and such).
You're incorrect on the naming.
2.2, AKA Potato is the Joel 'Espy' Klecker (sp?) release.
Note, it is NOT called 'Espy', it is just dedicated to him. There's a big difference...
If I write a book and call it 'Foobar', and dedicate it to Bob Smith, it is not called 'Bob Smith', but rather Foobar.
I don't think he was talking about Georgia, Virginia, or any of the 'civilized' southern states...
;)
Think Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi
Drag and drop WORKS with KDE2 and GNOME/GTK - I use it all the time.
.desktop format for menu entries.
Very nice for dragging MP3s from Konqueror into XMMS.
In addition to a common DND protocol, they also use the same

That's my Troll-o-meter going off the scale...
(Either that, or it's sarcastic - at any rate, don't take the last part seriously)
The only 'superiority' windows has is how fast it crashes.
The last time I booted windows (to actually use it - I made a bootdisk for someone whose computer was hosed) was at LEAST 6 months ago.
All my family runs Linux *by choice*.
My mom hates to go into windows to play The Sims, because it crashes so much.
Go away, troll.
Then you want Konqueror. It loads up in the blink of an eye (IE-like speeds), it's fast, and looks nice.

Yeah... what he wrote means either 'got toot' (ROFL) or 'got zoot' (WTF?).
A ports tree would be ridiculous for Debian.

Read 'man make' - you're thinking of 'make -n' :).
It's called Debian.
If you don't want to recompile, then I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in running this, anyway.
:).
It's still in development, and there are no programs (except for the examples) that actually USE this new rendering system.
But once there are (or, more likely, GTK+/QT add support), I'm sure that the distros will include it
No hassle?
Don't make me laugh...

Tried out KDE2 lately?
Here's just one:

I've been napsterizing all the tracks off the CD.
I take it you haven't tried KDE 1.1.2 on a laptop, have you?
:)
I installed it on my dad's Toshiba Satellite Pro (P120 w/32MB RAM), and it monitors the battery just fine
August 24? Wow... it's a whole month early!
:)
(yes, I know you mean July
They did it with Krycek, so why not Campbell?

Actually, you've got it backwards with .desktop.
.kdelnk. Take a look .desktop specs - they make reference to the .kdelnk is supported but deprecated :).
.desktop is *actually* just

Basically, Mulder has been abducted. And Scully is pregnant.
The first shot was halfway believable (the thumb reminded me a LOT of the terrible models for Q2 :). But after that it was obvious.
*My* car only has two pedals ;)
