    #1 There are plenty of agnostic/athiest nutjobs... trust me... the love is spread equally among religions (and yes... athiesm is a religion... takes just as much belief as any other.

    #2 The sad thing... for religion types the Sunday holy day types are the nutjobs.

    The Catholic church changed that many years back.. still controversial as to why, but even Catholics have admitted there is no Biblical basis for it:

              "Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

            "Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." -- Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174

    So... yeah... we believe in God... and that He is almighty... and He said we should observe Saturday... but we are just gonna ignore this one. Ever wonder why European types consider Monday as the first day of the week? Makes it a ton easier to have a clear conscience if you just re-explain the week away. :}

    Now that is the definition of a nutjob.

    So... I'll just putz along following God's ways... You can putz along not following God's ways... we will meet several times... in the end... one or both of us might be right.

    Things that are "for-profit" don't exclude communities.

    This is CmdrTaco's site... he is payed to maintain it but it is still HIS and he has designed it around a community that can sustain itself via moderation. Most of the people, in this community that has been created, realise that hundreds of thousands of people can't all be happy all the time and that the editors can in no way listen to every individual.

    Here he is attempting to listen in just such a way and all you can do is bash him about it and not address real issues.

  10. Re:Link to the original article on On the Matter of Slashdot Story Selection · · Score: 1

    I would recommend just placing the nofollow on the attribution link.

    The attribution link should be just about the person posting and of interest to slashdot readers that are curious. Pagerank/spider wise slashdot should not "help" since there is no relevance between anything on slashdot and their site (usually). If the editors where checking out their pages and they were also relevant to the discussion then it might be helpful to "boost them" but... that isn't the editors job.

    For links in the actual story... that do add enough information that they are left by the editors then there is no reason to put nofollow since Slashdot should be adding credibility to the story.

    The released a patch to "fix" it but it didn't... I have a newer release they put out in the 10$ game category and it seems to be better on most machines but I still lost the save game on one.
