It is still a platform even if it never really catches on. I still think both Maemo and Meego could've been real hits if Nokia had had the courage to see things through and management didn't try to screw everything up twice a month, but...

But seriously, try Android or iOS, both are great, anything else is utter crap in 2011.

I personally enjoy my Maemo thoroughly and I see both Android and iOS as inferior. Sooner or later I will have to get a newer phone but that won't be for a long time still, and it'll likely be Android because I really dislike anything Apple and I don't think Win7 Phone will ever truly catch on.

Personally I think it's just great what they're doing. People are speeding like crazy, often talking on the phone at the same time, and then every now and then someone dies. Just a month or two ago my friend's uncle got killed in an accident where someone thought he was a real speed demon and ended up crashing on the aforementioned uncle's car. My car has been crashed into too, just two weeks ago, and just today a 15-year old girl got killed because of someone speeding.

Now, I know you'll come up and say "But I can drive faster than the limits say and stil be perfectly safe" but guess what? That's what all the others are saying too! I only wish TomTom would directly report speeders to the police, atleast that'd take them out of the roads for a while.

Agreed. The TOS is pretty darn clear on this and as such there is no reason to complain, they are fully in their rights to do this.

You are partly confirming my idea that Finland wouldn't be a bad choice. Any idea what their immigration laws are like? Do you know if they would welcome an American who would like to naturalize and become Finnish?

There's many good things going on here compared to the US, like for example everyone is guaranteed medical aid should they need it, regardless of having an insurance or not, or the fact that mega corporations aren't allowed to trump on consumer rights or laws like they do in the US. But there's also the downsides, like for example having really long and cold winters. There are many immigrants who first believe they'll love the winters, but then eventually when the cold and dark sets in they get depressed very easily. Also the language barrier... well, you will REALLY be struggling with Finnish, especially if you don't have any natural knack for languages.

As for immigration laws: AFAIK you just need to take this short course that briefly goes over the most important laws and customs around here. I atleast am not aware of them requiring much more than that. An American would be just as welcome as anyone else, I s'spose, but as I said, you yourself need to know if you like cold, dark winters or not.

If you knew Finnish you'd know that it's so damn difficult because there's a gazillion different ways of saying the same things AND almost every single damn city has their own dialect. That really makes it hard for a foreigner to learn it all. If the oldtimer you mentioned really has a knack for languages then good for him/her, but the fact remains that Finnish is indeed considered one of the world's toughest languages for a foreigner to learn by any major linguist.

That's a downright lie right there: OtherOS NEVER allowed for playing backups or hacking games. First of all, the PS3's own filesystem is encrypted and on a separate partition from the OtherOS partition, so there was no access to the files there in the first place. Secondly, there was no access to GameOS functions whatsoever. OtherOS was absolutely not used for running PS3 games, not then and not now.
