I suppose I'll answer my own question. I could have sworn I saw this thing on a news program working over a long distance. But according to their website:
Q. Is this telesurgery? Can you operate over long distances? A. The da Vinci Surgical System can theoretically be used to operate over long distances. This capability, however, is not the primary focus of the company and thus is not available with the current da Vinci Surgical System.
Nova had a great show on the history of the Concorde recently and talked in detail about why it went under. Though there were many reasons, I was a bit suprised that one of the main reasons was that 40 of their most regular customers died in the World Trade Center. Though the number does not seem that high, these same people also allowed other execs in their company to fly which really hurt the concorde.
Maybe I am just getting used to this "new world" we live in, but I read that as if the US government classified this as some sort of state secret. Who knows, this new hairy lobster might be key to winning the war on terrorism, or know the location of a secret underwater Iraqi WMD project.
I did not RTFA, but if companies are required to put their software in escrow and note everyone who has contributed code, who has the list of everyone who ever contributed code to Linux? Not their online alias, not their email addres, but their actual name. How about other Open Source applications?
Maybe it exists, but it seems like it would be much easier for a closed source product such as windows to come up with that information.
Try this: Go to the Slashdot search page and search for "Salon". I get over a hundred results in the last year alone. And these are not just links to AP newswire stories hosted at Salon, these are original content, bankrolled by them. For all you out there bitching about "how can a website spend 80 million dollars?" that's how. They spend that much by funding the production of original, quality content.
Actually, it appears to be the same story posted hundreds of times on slashdot.:)
I agree that AOL should give up its hold on the market. But really, from their standpoint, why should they? They own the market, they spent $250 million on ICQ, and now they should just give it up?
M$ talks as if AOL is doing something bad, and it can fix it. Well they already "fixed" my desktop computer and that's all the help I need from them thank you.
Actually, maybe they should release all of their API's so all OSes can interpolate. That way I can switch my OS and won't have to worry about having to buy/find new applications.
I am sure that M$ would be willing to do this. Perhaps they could add it to the benevolent mission of the IMUnified Group. Yes, free APIs for everyone, I think I'll email Bill Gates.
I don't think so. http://www.bitpass.com/
Clearly we need this more than ever now.

If an ASP.Net app meets your needs, you might check it out. Free single user version I believe.

also gives the right answer when it isn't working... twice a day.
But stay away from the orange shades as they may make you appear less professional.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you

Nope, they have the rights to Macross (Japanese Anime), but not the rights to Robotech Macross Saga (English Version).
They don't have the announcement on there site yet, just a brief mention of Robotech.
But here is the link to watch.

ADV Films is going to release the entire robotech saga on DVD with extra features. They have hired Carl Macek to work on the project.
It was announced at the recent anime convention.
if only interplay wouldn't be so greedy. They release MAX2, the sequel to one of the best strategy games ever, and it was a complete dud!
If any game deserved to be recalled it was MAX2. Hopefully the industry will follow the example of Sierra.
