    The problem is that you can sue someone into oblivion (usually a ltd company that goes *poof* the moment you try to squeeze money from it) means jack shit when your whole administration grinds to a halt and you can't get anything done sensibly anymore, constituents get REALLY pissed at you and vote the other guy in next time.

    Direct confrontation is easier to handle than backstabbing manipulation. Direct confrontation is something you can at least take to HR, try that with a backstabbing mobbing master.

    The problem is that if this practice grows root, the idea of "working for a living" loses all meaning. How do you sensibly convince people that working is a good thing if it isn't giving them the means to live their life? In a system like this I cannot in good faith expect someone to work for his living if he gets no living for his work.

  13. Who gives a shit, what we're looking for is an easier to deactivate Cortana (among other things that are suspiciously hard to get rid of).

    Until Windows 10, we were forced to reinstall Windows when buying a new computer to get rid of the damn bloatware, with Win10 this doesn't work anymore because Windows itself comes with enough bullshit you can hardly get rid of that it makes the crap those Laptop peddlers stuffed into your "new" system pale in comparison.

    Now that the whole Facebook shit hit the fan, we can finally hope that this whole privacy destroying data collection madness gets some attention.

    Keep the stories coming. And make sure that they keep the steam they have now.

    And yes, it doesn't even matter what kind of story. Few people will actually understand what's really going on anyway. But what matters is volume. If there is story after story after story about how companies destroy our privacy, people will finally listen. Not because they understand, but because of the amount that surfaces.

    And as long as we put up with being nickle-and-dimed, they'll continue to do it. What we have to do is to simply avoid games that charge 60 bucks for the "privilege" of even playing it, then another 30 for 0day DLC and another 30ish a month just to keep playing for the various tools and toys you "have to" buy to stay competitive.

    As long as you keep paying, they'll keep milking you. Is that what you want?

    How fucked up is this? If you have a job, you should have enough money to feed yourself and your kids. If that's not the case, your system is severely broken.
