If the sensor is good enough to allow the applications he wants to work and the location spying apps not to work, I'd say that's pretty much the sweet spot for quality.
And I make it my game to dis-track them. With a combination of blockers and deliberately feeding false information, you can pretty quickly create a totally bogus profile of yourself. And my "targeted" ads (the ones I allow to pass to gauge my success) sure reflect that...
That's actually the other way around, it's OS supporting hardware, not hardware coming with drivers for the OS. Else Windows would be not supporting anything, not even MS very own XBox Controllers work without additional drivers.
That's the sad truth these days. At best, and that's about as good as it gets, they don't actively sabotage anyone trying to write a driver for Linux for their hardware. To make matters worse, your chances are good that your 100-button-mouse doesn't even work properly as a two button mouse in Linux.
In the end, you will notice that playing games in Linux means that you'll do without anything more sophisticated than a two-button mouse with a scroll wheel and a standard keyboard. No flightsticks, no steering wheels, no macro keyboards or mice, not even game controllers for the most part.
If anyone knows of any gaming hardware that actually works properly on Linux, please say so. I know not a single example of gaming hardware that does.
Make a webpage. Collect all those links that YouTube wants to bury that fit your personal preference of the narrative(s), or if you're actually such a good Samaritan, actually collect all those demonetized, buried videos and create a link index for them.
I'm fairly convinced that it's quite possible to run something like that even on ads, despite what YouTube claims most advertising companies don't care too much about the content as long as you can spin it in such a way that you provide freedom of expression rather than trying to promote "bad" videos.
I don't have time for a project like this, but I could see a market for that.

Repeat 1 and 2 until what's left is cat videos, kids playing minecraft and other crap nobody gives a shit about.

Let's be honest here, crypto-mining seems to be on the way out now that the bubble has deflated. But even if it was still soaring, it's nothing to bet your company's future on.
nVidia has a competitor. AMD/Radeon. Right now, nVidia is what game makers optimize and tweak their engines for, so nVidia can sell their cards at a premium to gamers, knowing that gamers want their cards rather than buying from the competition, because, well, let's face it, the compatibility is simply higher. Since nVidia cannot deliver enough units to satisfy both demands, miners and gamers alike, one of them will have to look for alternatives.
If they go for the low hanging fruit and simply crank out mining rigs that will probably still sell like hotcakes (and you can make a pretty penny with it right now because miners can easily afford turning the profits they make back into mining systems, that system keeps itself running), gamers will not be able to buy an nVidia card, even though they would want one, and will look for alternatives. And at some point, it will actually make sense for studios to stop optimizing for nVidia and start looking at how to tweak their games for AMD because now suddenly the majority of their customers, i.e. gamers, is using AMD hardware.
This would be devastating for nVidia. And pretty much the very LAST thing they could possibly want.
Because at some point, mining is saturated. We probably have already reached that point, but I don't want to discuss whether BTC will rise again or whether it's plummeting back to penny stock quality, because it does not matter. What matters is that it's a risk. It may work out, it may not.
Gamers have been here, are here and will be here. And they needed, need and will need fast GPUs. Yes, they need fewer GPUs than the miners do. But if you can't satisfy the market demand anyway, why risk anything?
What happened after WW2 was that the winners, at least the Western ones, didn't want to cripple Germany but instead came and helped rebuild. That had a powerful effect on how they were regarded in Germany after the war. Everything from England and even more the US was awesome, by default. And nothing they did could possibly be bad. There was a very strong and lasting Pro-US sentiment in Germany, first because of the aid and later because of the threat from the East.
That changed later, in the 60s and more so in the 70s, but by then Germany already had a strong and resilient democracy that could easily withstand any attempt to destabilize it.
And this is, in my opinion, also the only way you can bring democracy to a country that has no democratic culture (like Germany before WW2. Yes, they had a democracy between WW1 and WW2, but there was no culture behind it, no support in the population that would hit the road or even fight for their democracy. Quite the opposite). Crush an oppressive regime to the point where its people are completely disenchanted, get rid of the assholes and then cooperate with the population to take control and rebuild.
It worked in Germany, a country that was considered "irredeemable" by some in the 1940s, the perpetual warmonger that cannot be taught how to play nice with the rest of the world. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
Do you have to shut down computers opposite to the one that fails to maintain "computing balance"? Can a computer that fails blow up and take a few adjacent computers with him? Can a failing computer cause a cascading effect by sending bogus signals through the network that makes other computers fail? Does a failing computer fundamentally alter your mission profile to the point that you have to change the computations for ALL other computers?
Maybe we should stay with car analogies. They aren't any better, but at least we're used to them being garbage.
