Guess I'm from a different generation. There are days I forget my phone and don't even notice that I did until I start looking for it when going to bed since it's my alarm clock. Which is also the one function I require the most out of it...
But take away my computer and you have a very confused person at your hands.
I was asking you to provide examples for "the elites". Are you that deluded already that asking you for your position is an attack to it, worse, that a mere question means that I have to support the other side of the argument?
Yes, it was provocative, yes, it was worded so that you have to defend your position. Is your position so weak that even daring to ask you to defend it makes it crumble to the point where you assume that anyone asking you to bring forth solid arguments for your position (i.e. INVITING you to talk about it) makes it shake at its core?
Then I wish someone else would defend it, because it's mine.
The popularity of Dailymail is in shock videos of people getting shot and bleeding heart stories. Any paper that wants to compete with that isn't worth reading anyway.
It's tyranny when a country takes back control from corporations. Are we at that point already where an elected body taking power from one that is literally based on "might (money) makes right" is tyranny?
I can almost see George Washington and Jesus looking down and George saying "Remember when you said 'if I had known what that ends up as...'? I get your point now".
Hey, in Europe we respect the right to kill yourself before you get to kill others.
That's why you get to drink when you're 16 and drive a car or operate a gun when you're 18. With a hint of luck, those 2 years is enough to weed out the worst.
It's not about Firefox, but rather about how Firefox works, i.e. VERY independent of the OS. While Chrome usually shares some "features" with the OS, Firefox tries to detach itself as much as it can from the underlying OS, and where it does use OS settings or components, it asks you whether you really want that (and usually the default is 'no').
So while I don't care too much for Firefox either, it's a good indicator for whether an OS allows you to run an independent browser.
Catphones aren't as great as they're made out to be. Seriously.
And you think my set of problems is particular? Well, maybe... considering the "features" that modern phones boast, I might be the odd man out, I don't need 6 cameras, I don't need phones the thickness of the average tinfoil wrap, I hate the lack of a sensible keyboard and the associated use of the phone screen as ersatz typing surface, I don't exactly get the big advantage of having no headphone jack (if it at least made the phone water proof, I could see the benefit),...
So, because I don't take sides with A, I have to take sides with B? Because I don't like Trump, I automatically adore Hillary, and because I don't like Hillary, I must fellate Trump at every opportunity?
Did it ever occur to you that BOTH options are junk?

No. Just a shit Pile.
It's already in the name.
Then I guess advertising it as if you had it when they know well that it ain't so is simply and plainly fraud, right?
Interesting. It seem that you do pay tax, one way or another, no matter what you do.

Come back when people become replaceable without training.
Not having to pay for more roads to keep your town from becoming the world's biggest parking lot during rush hour is also increasing your revenue.

Hey, we had that for about half a century!
Hmm... some people think that life was better back then... maybe you do have a point...

Poe's Law is strong in this one. Really can't tell whether it's sarcasm or ignorance.

Not?
Damn, the popcorn's almost done. And we'd have front row center seats, too.
No, the guy who wants to make others pay for shit he wants to build lives on a different continent.
No, but Somalia is a good cue. Move there if you don't want to pay taxes, I heard they're pretty close to zero.
And there's much free real estate now too!
I do not think those Europeans will stand to be without Google News for long.
European here.
What is Google News?
Correction: Nobody tried so far because ... why? Even "because we can" isn't a good enough reason this time.

It's the OS that declared the web browser an integral part of its OS, remember?
C'mon, you don't put that into writing. Did they put "to keep the blacks where we think they belong" when they wrote the Jim Crow laws?
Depends, what do I get to thrust him into?

To give people a reason to use Photoshop?

With good reason, because they will make them. People are desperate to keep their job, even if it means a net loss to them.
