The patent system defines the playing field. Apple is just playing in it like everyone else. They would not need these patents, and not even have a desire for them, other than this is how business is done with the bad patent system we do have. It's been long time to get rid of it.
... then Apple would have never designed the iPhone the way it did, or probably would never have designed it at all. In fact, Apple might no longer even exist because no one would be investing in business because there would be no money to make.
Not!
Obviously Samsung is doing well without these certain patents. Other companies are doing well, too. What's special about Apple that would make it fail in this kind of competitive market? Oh wait... it's all overpriced.
The patent system SHOULD be there to encourage inventors to invent things we would not otherwise have. The big question is, if Apple had not come up with these specifics first, would anyone else have done so, eventually? IMHO, at least for most of them, the answer is yes.
I don't blame Apple, though. I blame the broken patent system that takes away the rights of developers for TRIVIAL THINGS, instead of sticking to GENUINE INNOVATIONS (which make up less than 5% of patents... way less in some fields like software).
And don't miss the opportunity to sockify a whole tunnel of TCP connections, instead of socksifying programs, to use with your ssh -D connection. The tun2socks program does this, and can do UDP with a remote side helper program.
They will have to shut off ssh to block it. They might, but that ends up breaking a lot more stuff and getting more of their population angry at the government.
Set up a tax on all email (sorry, no technical details available). People get pissed off over the tax, stop using email, and start using IM, Twitter, etc, instead. No one reads email anymore. Spammers stop making money on email and move on over to IM, Twitter, etc. End result: no more spam in your email box. Mission accomplished.
And it's also well known that taxing one particular type of business drives that type of business away. So the spammers will just move down to San Jose.
The law we need is one that provides a clear and accurate source of the message or phone call. It must identify the phone company that took the message or call from a customer, and also identify the customer, except in the few special cases the government allows blocking ID (never for commercial businesses). Any phone company failing to provide this identity accurately assumes all responsibility for every message or call made as if they made it themselves.
You can set a trigger to a JS function on anything, for any action, like mouse key down. It's really easy to do. I wonder why they are even paying another company to do it.
John Cornyn III (born February 2, 1952) is the senior United States Senator for Texas, serving since 2002. He is a member of the Republican Party and the current Senate Minority Whip for the 113th Congress. If merely opening an email can do anything more that let you see and hear its content (and stop the instant you close it) then there is something wrong with your computer. And even that much is risky.
Just pass a new law that undoes some or all of a previously passed law. There are lots of people in Congress trying to undo Obamacare. Do it that way.

They are probably sniffing every network connection for that string (in multiple languages). Spring is just a few weeks away.

I block ad NETWORK sites because there is always lots of trouble at those places. Insert your OWN ads and we'll see how that goes.
Maybe you are using the word "maybe" too much.
Abusive ads have one or more of the following:
These are the ones I block. I suggest advertisers start treating people as people.
Finally ... Anonymous Coward revealed!!

Tax email? Then I won't use it. I'm moving to port 23 where there are no spammers and no tax.
And that's only if John Q Taxpayer lives in Berkeley.
And it's also well known that taxing one particular type of business drives that type of business away. So the spammers will just move down to San Jose.
So ... but what if the spammers move out of Berkeley? What then?
The spammers would just move out of Berkeley. Think of all the economic loss that would bring about.

... welcome our new overlords!
I think that's what all those meteors have been trying to do. That is, unless they are bringing in the bacteria.

You mean like shutting OFF the service?

You should change your nick from Anonymous Coward to Anonymous Telecommuter.
Just as have all the other stocks where people do work at home.
Yeah, I slack. Yes, I do work from home. But slacking is how I get things done, right, and on time.
