I would have thought that finding a way capture CO2 emissions and convert to liquid fuel would have been the ideal option if you can do it with some, not insane amount, of energy. Solar would be ideally suited to this as it doesn't matter that much if the power levels vary during the day and the fuel essentially acts as your energy storage.

It doesn't solve carbon capture and storage but it would replace burning fossil fuels whose carbon is still stuck in the ground. I believe Solar Jet is looking at something like this now.

A significant portion of the income would be taxed still. And call it sheltered if you like but the National Minimum Wage where I live is $17.25 per hour. So in my opinion $10 per hour for work in a first world country where you have to invest significant capital upfront to get the job IS a shit wage. Especially when you combine it with no guarantee of work so no guarantee of pay.

Looking at numbeo the average monthly rental on a 1 bedroom apartment, not in the city is 802.14 per month. That means that they are going to be looking at essentially 2 weeks work just to cover the cost of tiny accommodation. In a month they are going to be lucky to have $800 on which to pay their bills and eat.

8 hour shift is $200 max. Out of that comes fuel & vehicle wear and tear, IRS say 57c per mile and I would have thought 20 miles an hour was reasonable including stops etc so that $91.20 on an 8 hour shift. Add to that cost of capital of the car, insurance, accountants, other ancillary "run your own business costs" and I'm struggling to see you making $10 an hour.....

When your vehicle is cold the combustion is less complete and there is left over fuel. On top of this your catalytic converter is cold. So air is injected into the exhaust for two reasons. The first is to provide oxygen for unburnt fuel to be burnt and the second was to rapidly increase the temperature of the catalytic converter to it starts working.

Then once you car is up to temp the air is pumped into the exhaust system just infront of the cat. This allows the cat to be much more efficient and more complete in its transformation.

They were called smog pumps because they reduced smog. But it wasn't through bending the rules it was actually because it did something to reduce emissions.

Seriously? Ok VW is an Aktiengesellschaft. Aktiengesellschaft, is a German term for a public limited company — a company whose shares are offered to the general public and traded on a public stock exchange, and whose shareholders' liability is limited to their investment. The shareholders are not responsible for the company's debts and their personal assets are protected in case the company becomes insolvent.

No it doesn't. LLC or Limited means that shareholders are only on the hook for the value of their shares if something goes wrong. If you are a shareholder in a non Limited company you can be on the hook for your entire asset pool if something happens. Both forms of corporations exist, however non limiteds are extremely rare.

I agree with everything you say except the photos. The difference though between me and them is that the tablets let them have essentially infinite access to what they want all the time. Where as when I grew up I might have read all the books in the house or there was nothing on TV I wanted to watch so I had to come up with something else to do.

So what happens is you have to restrict access to it to create a false scarcity so they will learn the skills of coming up with something else to do.

As for the photos my eldest was over the moon when we bought her the cork board she was asking for because she wants to pin photos to it. We are always getting physical photos printed for her.
