The only time the mob almost ruined California was when they passed Prop. 13 (talk about handouts!). The legacy of subsequent shortfalls lead straight to that every time.
Except for those people who don't want the government running the pipe through which they talk to family, entertain, telecommute, handle their finances, etc.
You don't want them running the pipe, but you're perfectly okay when they demand weak encryption so they can listen in, and to compel a person to assist in his own prosecution because, OMG! Bad Guys!
You want government authority, but not government service. This is your basic shtick.
This is more like "if someone leaves their curtains open, can I look inside from across the street and even take pictures if I want?" To which the correct answer is, yes. Since nobody can be bothered to correct these issues at election time, I just don't think about it. You cannot reason with an authoritarian and irrational mob, so appeasement seems to be the favored option.
With enough panels normal daylight is sufficient. You can build the thing as big as you need, even big enough to drop supplies. Regardless, a circling drone is still better than nothing. Being found is a big step in the right direction.
And as far as airliners are concerned, there is no reason not to keep them under constant satellite tracking. It would make the search effort so much easier. I don't understand the resistance to doing so. But then it took over 35 years of cockpit invasions just to put in a decent door with a lock. So I don't expect swift progress in this area.
Which also needs constant updating to keep up. Until this is over, the simplest thing to do is to disable Windows Update. If you don't open every attachment you receive, or click on every laughing baby link, you shouldn't have much problem.
They can just keep the same model in production for a longer time, and stop with the gimmickry. My 5 year old Nexus still works fine, must be a manufacturing flaw...
No I won't pay for updates. That would be dumb. I'll just stop updating and use what I have until it breaks, making backups along the way. I'd wager most people would do the same.
You do know who writes the law, right? To change the law in our favor will require a voter referendum. I don't know if the feds recognize those things.
The debates do nothing to preclude you from voting for those candidates. It is your job to seek them out. If you don't, and continue to reelect the incumbents, you only have yourselves to blame
Um, exactly who is going to write these provisos? I mean, if we are going run the country by referendum, let's fire all the politicians and save a buckets of money. And also, if reformist politicians can win elections, "campaign reform" would be a moot issue.
That's exactly the way it works. With enough signatures, anybody can get on the ballot. The money angle is bullshit. Money has more influence on the voter than the politician. It's being spent to convince everyone to vote 'correctly' to make sure the *right lizard* gets in. And with 98% compliance, it is an outstanding success. It is the voters who give power to money. You could vote for, say, the Greens, and turn all the other guy's money into confetti. The choice is yours, not theirs.
No, the choice is to make the effort to get the candidates that you want on the ballot, or not, and to vote out crooked incumbents, or not. Everything else is crap.
The opportunity awaits. We can clean the house in November, or we can keep on doing the same old thing and reelect 95% of them, and then complain some more for two more years.
If you want your government to fight against the abuse, you have to vote for one that will. All the complainers who say there's no choice are full of shit.
It's just resting
It is a zombie bill that will never die. In fact, SCO will die first.
See: California.

even the rats that developed tumors lived longer than rats not exposed to the radiation.
So, the radiation makes them into super rats? Oh no!

And I've never seen one use a cell phone. At these prices and the lousy service why would they?

Send in the drones. Make them solar powered so they can loiter.
I just installed GWX Control Pane...

Not if it costs money. I'll just backup more often. This is a scam to create a new profit opportunity in a saturated captive market.

Instead of moving people, let's put the buildings on wheels so they can come to us.
Well, until there is sufficient demand to bring up charges, we'll just have to sit and watch the disaster unfold.
You think they would resist? The FBI is a world cop.
There is no big industry that depends on the 4th like there is for the 2nd. No money, no lobby

You gotta draw a crowd. The advertising industry is boring. Abortion is exciting!

The news of SCO's death is greatly exaggerated. The case is still open.
sadly most people won't even consider voting for either of them because of something to do with lizards.
Okay, then why are so many people complaining? The choices they make are their own.
No, the choice is to make the effort to get the candidates that you want on the ballot, or not, and to vote out crooked incumbents, or not. Everything else is crap.
I'm looking for a way to cut them from my life...
That won't happen until you vote for a government that will open up the market. You don't have much other choice.
Where is the government when we truly needs them?
Right where you want them, in eternal gridlock.
The opportunity awaits. We can clean the house in November, or we can keep on doing the same old thing and reelect 95% of them, and then complain some more for two more years.
