  3. How did we allow the Statists to play us so?

By voting for party authoritarians, democrat and republican. The voters are to blame for their own situation. If they want it to change, they have to do it their own damn selves. Will this be an election issue? Doubtful. So don't blame the system for something of our own making. It is a system that you yourself shows support for. So, I don't know why you are complaining now. Did you say anything back in 2005? Did your vote indicate any objection in the elections since then? If not, then what's your beef?

No, it does not. Slashdot is perfectly functional as it is. The glitches are minor. And besides, not too many other sites retain over 16 years of uncensored* and unedited audience commentary. We don't need no steenking unicode, and we don't need "undo". "Preview" is more than sufficient.

Any and all attempts to politicize what the IRS does can be traced to and blamed on politicians and those who handle them.

Yes, enforcement is politically directed, and thus the IRS is politicized, its public mandate notwithstanding.

This guy is small potatoes. If you are going to be serious about the tax burden (which this isn't), look to the leaders of the financial industry that sucks up all our currency out of circulation, not some punk free lancer that is statistically invisible. It's bullshit propaganda. Well, whatever, better luck to the next guy. In fact I'll bet the void was filled within minutes after the shut down. The "Soviet Union" still needs "lipstick and toilet paper". I hope you understand the analogy.
