The EU is a shrine to bureaucracy. I guess after more than a thousand years of war, and you pile the weather on top of that, people are just to tired to resist.
An unlocked door is a 'transmission'. It transmits, *Free stuff inside*! I'm not being totally facetious here. There are rules about retransmitting private communications and even public broadcasts. And they technically apply to the intended recipient as well as those who intercept the transmission.
So what? Somebody had to record and retransmit the call. In copyright that is 'theft' (the FCC might have something to say about it too), whether it is registered or not. You gotta be consistent here. Keep in mind that I like your style of response (it empowers me) and am simply soliciting more. thankyouverymuch
No, maybe a better analogy would be if you gave a friend the key and he robbed the place. Either way, unlocked is unlocked. The consequences should remain the same.
Um, you do realize you would blind all the cameras and other sensors also? Your car would meander around like a Roomba, which would kinda suck if you're headed towards a cliff.
You are just not going to outdo the Americans. And resign? Please! Here you get promoted, might even become president of the country, and the job will be waiting for you when you finish your term/sentence..
But I doubt if I'll ever see that headline in my lifetime....
That's right. We want to turn our cars into living rooms and entertainment centers with full automation and everything, including a toilet. The sooner the better. Then we won't need a damn license to get around. The track is the only safe place to drive anyway.
Actually, TopGear did tests with sports cars and the distance was like 70 feet.
You will have traveled almost 90 feet before you even react to what you see. And that distance with sports cars with fat sticky tires is hardly the average for a Yugo.
It is a commodities trader on Wall Street, a hedge fund, whatever. Somehow it is valued at 50 billion(!) while Sikorsky can be bought for 7. How screwed up is that? Big ol' bubble machine at work there.
Fake out!

The moon doesn't emit its own light either...
Yes you are allowed to intercept the transmission. Normally you are not allowed to retransmit it. Capisce? Or do I gotta send somebody?
Hit me harder!
Hit me quick!

It is more like if you leave your property out in the street...
Then we have to apply that to every unencrypted radio signal you throw out *into the street*.
I think the real message here is don't trust anyone, not even the person on the other end of the line.
Yes, law...
Oh, law... Well then, that's completely different. I was talking about what is real.
If unsecured communication is an invitation to eavesdrop, then an unlocked door is an invitation to steal, and should be just as legal.
Maybe the next guy should use copyright law to prohibit any retransmission of the signal.
Well, if it leaves a spot, people are going to notice.
Mmmmm, pizza-phone...
If you call someone, even inadvertently, you have no expectation of privacy.
Then if you leave your doors unlocked, you have no expectation of ownership
"If a thief walks in your unlocked door, don't call us." Ah, but wait, it's not about the act, is it?, It's a matter of who is doing it.
Sorry... Must have fallen out of my pocket...
They all come walking out of the shower
But we do! It's splattered all over the place

I also bring my own hookers and drugs.
"How much is 2 + 2?"
"How much do you want it to be?"
Eh, it's no different than a truck shedding the tread off its cheap tires. I didn't know they did that to save weight and drag.
