In matter like this I always remind people to look at the election results. It is what the people want, they don't care. The rules of the game are pretty simple. If their wallet is full, they vote for the ruling faction. If it is empty, they vote for the "opposition" (in quotes, because there really isn't any within the spectrum of people that get elected).
What would be the temperature of the earth with no atmosphere?
The hot core would probably keep it a tad (in space terms I don't know how significant that is) warmer than the moon. But, really, without an atmosphere, who is going to ask?
On the opposite side of the pole it was a bit chillier. And there was enough snow to refill the Great Lakes. I personally don't know why there has to be all this back and forth to convince people they shouldn't blow smoke into each others face, if for no other reason than simple respect. I believe that working on that basis would be far more sustainable on the long run.
Sometimes the posted speed limit is too fast for existing conditions. You don't have to go 100 just because it's legal. And on a bike in traffic? You are running with the bulls. You have to assume the absolute worst, always.
because it is true that a rear end collision is not always the following driver's fault.
Yes, it is always the following driver fault. Always! Unless the google car was backing up, which it wasn't. The guy behind was not paying attention. If you pay attention and keep your distance you will not rear end anybody. It's simple physics.
If you rear end somebody, it is your fault, and your fault only! Period. End of story. There is no argument. Remember the three second rule and all will be well.
If you get rear ended, it is never your fault, unless you were backing up. The other guy was too close. It is always that simple. The insurance companies agree. Leave space and pay attention,, and you will never rear end anybody.
You don't even comprehend what I say! How can I possibly expect you to believe it?? You need to do things in their proper order, then your response might make sense. But I doubt that. You prefer to believe hateful propaganda. I can't overcome those kinds of psychological problems that cloud your judgement. That you must do on your own.
You can't see the danger that surrounds from the middle of the herd. Only those on the 'fringe' can. The 'fringe' is the room with a view.
All your complaints are extremely one sided and biased. Kinda strange for a 'centrist'. You are merely putting the burden of austerity on the people who can least afford it. It is you and they who want to sacrifice their lives. I only wish to see the load more uniformly spread about. You, like a couple of others I know around here, see equal treatment as a threat to your upward mobility and special status in high society with your propaganda that we want to make the whole world poor. Lucky you! It still works! It seems beyond your comprehension that we can lift all people up! You prefer to believe lies.
Perfection in such systems cannot be obtained, so a certain amount of loss must be tolerated.
Yeah really! I mean, like, what's the big deal, right?

AMX was the exception
Stock tires make your car look like an AMC
It's about maximizing market value. A very simple concept.
In truth the problem is purely personal. In the steel cage match between science and ideological peer pressure, you know which will win.
You mean like this?

I rear-ended someone once who was stopped in her lane... I rear-ended someone (slightly) at a stop sign.
It is always your fault, though I will cut some slack for the slippery road. In the driving rain storm you were moving too fast for the conditions.
I have no idea why she thought stopping to chat on a busy insterstate was a good idea, because traffic was moving normally otherwise.
That hardly sounds possible or logical. Either way, everybody else avoided her, so, what happened?
It doesn't matter if the guy in front of you has to slam on the brakes or not. If you rear-end someone it's your fault.
This needs to be burned into the brain with a branding iron. The excuses people make here are amazing, and as old as the hills.
One car length for every 10 MPH of speed.
Or three seconds between you and the guy in front, one to react, and two more to come to a stop.

located in the same place as the flashing lights on an emergency vehicle.
Then treat it the same way and back off.
If you rear end somebody, it is your fault, and your fault only! Period. End of story. There is no argument. Remember the three second rule and all will be well.

Just put the head in a jar in front of the TV.
Sure, okay... You win
I better buy new speakers. If he hears mine, he'll have me arrested..
You gotta make an effort!

Price. That is the standard. Most people won't look beyond it, and will gladly accept inferior tech.
There ya go...
Eh, you go your way.. You're not listening.
