    Why go to the trouble of converting it to hydrogen when you could just burn it and loose nothing in the process. The conversion process is just going to decrease the efficiency..

    All smoke and no fire... Don't talk about it just build it. Personally I think someone should sit down and hack together a install package builder program based on something like gdialog and python that outputs a executable compressed image into a single bin file.

    A good installer is not hard to accomplish if the desire for it really exists. It is however one of the most overlooked things as open source programs are involved.

    Don't make me go hunting down 20 dependency packages but offer to install them for me. A simple script based on wget can do that...

    I am a asshole because I will not work on some spyware / bug / virus infested system only to have to return and do it again the next week??? Well I guess if that is what defines a asshole then I fit the bill perfectly. Most of these people read email create a few documents and surf the web. I put linux on their machines and we never have to fix them again, the machine just simply works from that day forward.

    I have a little rule that I follow. As soon as someone asks me to fix their computer I ask them what it is running. More often then not it is some flavor of Windows. I merely tell them they have two options, load linux which I am happy to do for them and support or pull out their credit card and call Microsoft...Have a nice day..

    It has been at least a hour since this was posted and I still do not have screen shots of the penguin frame buffer image booting on a surfboard, it seems the linux community is slow to respond. Of course I know there has got to be at least a half dozen /.'s that are ripping the covers off their modems as we speak.

    Out of all the people you will ever meet that claim to be software developers only about 5% will be good at it. The rest of them are just doing it as a job or because someone told them they could make a living doing it. If you cannot say that you do not mind spending 18 hours a day at a keyboard do not even think about it. Those of us that are in the top 5% will always rule the roost but we always need a few good me to write the BS database apps.

    No they should just terminate your access if you are abusing the service. Ask me to define it and I will tell you that now you have connection that is set to 0kb per sec. In most cases your 20 dollar a month connection is not worth even messing with you. Now that was spoken from the point of view of a ISP.

    We run into problem customers on occasion running stuff that chews incredible amounts of bandwidth like bit torrent. We hand them a copy of the terms of service which forbids the running of servers. If we see them do it again their connection is terminated immediately. A 20 or 30 dollar connection fee just isn't worth our time, why cap connections when you can just terminate the offenders.

    Man I have switched every darn box I admin to Mepis. It is debian but damn easy to install and up to date. I was running nearly 30 redhat servers some of them under a support contract...no longer they can blow me..

    the executable from the sender, downloads it to a temp
    file/directory and runs it.

    Yes it does use outlook (the typhoid mary of the internet) to spread itself. I suggest you stick with windows as being a Linux administrator is a very lonely job. It is very much like being a Maytag repairman, nobody ever calls.

    I saw over at the windriver site that this thing
    has a proprietary os and only on cpu and only one set of code. Now come on how frigging smart is that? Hell back at work I even have redundant clusters for nearly everything. Relying on a single computer that is a few hundred million miles away is, should I dare say? Retarded..
