    really I bet its local corrupt government officials want telco interconnection fees back - back in the day it was good way of ripping off your countries foreign currency - that's why telecoms minster was such a prized position in some third world countries

    Unfortunately the Iranian revolution shows that the progressive elements get bulldozed into the ground by the reactionary religious side - I can see within a year some Mullah wrapping him self in the green flag and denouncing the internet as the great Satan and Khaled as a pawn of the SIS.

    Ah you mean they tortured him to confess - I am sure they could have got him to confess to the reichstag fire if they wished.

    Lets hope the Arab spring gets to Iran and you and your fellow travelers got what the milice did in France post ww2 - if your lucky a clean death by firing squad against the wall.

    I suspect like me the commenter has spent time in the real world in a telco - and it is not fair if one company gets something at a discount whether its Google or Murdochs news international free riding on the BBC here in the UK

    Yes I suspect they didn't actually employ any experienced old hands from ATT to advise on this and both sides got carried away Local Loop is radically different to cabling up some datacentre its also flipping expensive.

    Well I used to work for British Telecom and on call was a perk I knew people working in some teams that where on 4 in 4 they got called about once a month form what I remember it was around $600 a week just for being on call plus TOIL at OT rates on top of that.

    hmm back in the day the original dnd psionics had a flaw in that you could accelerate an object using TK there was no upper bound for speed so just have a lump of metal or a javelin accelerate it to a suitable speed and then lob it at the enemy F = MV Squared is your friend.
    You would use a light spell as a tracer on it so you could track the missile and adjust its course..

    well yes there are some places you really don't go if you work for certain companies who have links with your government I used to work for BT and they where considered "crown forces" and therefore valid targets by the IRA - there are defiantly bits of NI I would think twice about going to even today. I certainly would not say my "Catholic" last name. (probably a few bars in Boston as well)

    Well The French economy is run by technocrats and has been running preferred "national champions" for decades. Germany also has passed laws that favor the large German car makers who have large government share holders - i am not holding my breath.

    as will Google if they are not careful - Google is publishing the auto complete suggestions not the writer on the website listed in the serp.

    Removing autocomplete would save all search engines from these sorts of problems

    You certainly fail politics/law 101 - its Google's arrogance that will get them into trouble and they don't have the political clout of a Murdoch to try and get away with it which he almost did.

    the EU is the not called French and German garden for nothing - ask MS how the anti trust investigation turned out for them. And the French state is very good at obeying the spirit of the rules but funny how its always french companies that come out on top.

    Raiding Google for breaking the working time directive might be one.

    Not for a long time have "terrorist" organizations explicitly gone for pure terror - damaging infrastructure and police and civil society making it cheaper to do a deal with your organization than continuing the fight is more the game today.

    Well this is the end game for "cyber war" eventually if you piss of some actor enough they wont just hack back they will go "kinetic" to use the modern term :-)

    Its going to suck if your an Arab studying in Mexico at the moment as it has been known for retaliation to get the wrong guy (as was the case in lillehammer)
    And given the provenance of the stuxnet hackers rating him out as a spy for the government to the Zetas or los Templarios might be a nastier way of getting him.

    the Uk tabloids had the opinion that they where above the law ask Piers Morgan or Rupert / James Murdoch how that's working out for them.

    that's what the autosuggestion is doing - just turn off autosuggestion and all those problems go away
