  1. Re:If you want CD-quality audio, buy CDs on Why We Should Buy Music In FLAC · · Score: 2

We Australians pay way too much for cds. $30~ for a new cd? Fuck that for a joke!

Plus for those of us who prefer the ease of having our audio in a digital format (the only thing I own that plays audio cds now is my car) buying a cd for cd quality audio really isn't conveint.

Maybe buying CD singles and albums appeals to you, but for me I much prefer my stuff in digital. Plus if it's DRM free FLAC it'll last a lot longer than a cd.

If apple is so evil, why do people keep buying their stuff? Surely people can speak with their wallets and support companies that aren't so restrictive of people using their products.

  5. Re:So what about Left4Dead 2? on Australian AvP Ban Reversed · · Score: 3, Interesting

We wont. Zombies look too much like humans. It's the doublestandards of our rating system. On the one hand a game where you kill zombies gets banhammer, but on the other hand a game you play as a terrorist (MW2) and can decapitate living humans, not zombies (AvP), get the MA15+ rating. Our country is so far behind the times with it's rating system and it's fast becoming a nanny state. Hopefully some kids get this game and parents see how violent it is and it causes some pissed off mums to get vocal. It might actually help us get our long awaited R18+ rating.

As an Australian I resent that comment. I suggest America, no one likes them anymore anyway.

I think this is a good thing too that they're looking to other sources. To be honest, the movies I enjoy today are ones with the unknown actors, not the big A list celebs you see all the time and generally play the same character every time.

  8. Hmm.. on Australia Could Finally Get R18+ Games · · Score: 1

It's almost a contradiction in a way. With news of this, and the impending ISP level filtering that's probably going to pass, I don't know what to think!
