    A bunch of arrogant entitled Haaaarvard douches get butt-humped by the biggest douche amongst them, then spend the rest of their natural lives giving all of their money to lawyers until none of them have anything except crack habits and an autobiography in the bargain bin.

    I mean, you can't buy entertainment like this. It's win-win, especially if they all lose.

    And to top it all off, the man's name means "sugar mountain".

    When will billionaires ever get a fair shake in this world?

    Gates was investigated, then when we got an irrationally pro-business president in the WH the DoJ dropped the case even though they were winning.

    Billionaires will get fairly cut down to size when we stop electing Republicans.

    People. You don't have to use a dash when writing "god". That is used when writing god's name on paper, because you aren't technically supposed to physically destroy god's name.

    It is irrelevant when written on a computer.

    I always thought it was because you weren't supposed to invoke God's name. But even if it is to avoid destroying it, this glowing-phosphor pattern of God's name will be just as destroyed when it scrolls off my screen as it would be on paper.

    I gotta say, I'm not all that surprised...think about it, you're just an average college student, and not a few years later you're a billionaire. That's gonna fuck with your ego, no matter who you are.

    Actually, from what I hear he had that kind of ego from the beginning. Read some of the leaked emails if you don't believe me.

    That's a really stupid way for them to word that provision. What if you work at a DoD lab or Northrup Grumman and you like to jam out while you work?

    Or better, I wouldn't want the average java programmer making a java program that will control a nuclear facility.

    Yeah, but that provision means even drawing up a rough preliminary schematic on a drawing program written in Java is verboten. And I believe I found that gem in the JRE EULA, so all common users have to agree to it, not just developers. But you can always get around it by switching to OpenJDK, so beware!

    I think the notion of "discovery" is pretty fuzzy in a lot of cases, but you're crazy if you think the player deserves MORE credit than the software authors here.

    Why? The creators of the software developed a tool, and the player used that tool to discover something. We don't give the inventor of the computer credit for discovering fractals, or the inventor of the microscope credit for discovering bacteria, do we?

    Granted, the creators of the software deserve great credit for creating a useful tool, just like we separately recognize Galileo for developing the telescope and Herschel for using it to discover Uranus.

    OK. I'll concede the point with regards to China but the eventual dissolution of the USSR provides me with backup.

    Except that that occurred after decades of de-Stalinization, and was far more connected to the Soviets' nonsensical economic policies than to suppressing dissenters. But I still agree that suppressing ideological opponents is a stupid idea. If nothing else, it will cause OP to go down in history as a cruel inhuman tyrant.

    Or you could have read TFA or infered from TFS. The study took substituted the 'defendants' photo out for mock jury judgments, however the case details remained identical despite the photo change.

    It's almost like they were controlling variables in a scientific study...

    ...unless they controlled for likelihood of actual guilt (I don't know how) and severity of crimes brought to trial, all this tells is that justice may not be blind OR ugly people may be pre-disposed to criminal behavior and to commit more serious crimes.

    Are they flying? or are they jumping ramps?

    Does it matter? The text below the comic says "I’m guessing any guys that can solve that might as well be hooking up a flying car," but even if you assume it's jumping ramps, it still makes sense because it looks like the car would make a "grazing collision" on one of those obstacles, and they now have a solved equation for that. So just take your pick and enjoy it either way.

    This is just a tactical move in Google's spat with Apple. They're banning the term "Cougar" before Apple can use it as the name of its next OS X release.

    Yeah, OS X Cougar will be the release that waits for newer, younger OS Xs to come out, then seeks them out and takes advantage of them.
