Have you considered that that attitude might be why so many movies these days just suck? When you lower your expectations you get sub-standard drek.
When I pay money to see a movie I want more than just "okay".
That's the primary reason I haven't been to a movie in a theatre for nearly a year. I don't have that kind of money to blow on something I would consider drivel when I could rent one for $1.50 and enjoy it 10x as much at least, because I know I'm getting a quality experience.

The idea is, this is a Cnsole system. It's not a linux computer. It plays the games Indrema makes for it, so it's fsking irrelevant what linux games are out there because the games are for the IES platform, shipped in little cartridges, not for the general linux platform. That's what a game console is. The fact that it runs Linux internally is just like TiVo running Linux. It still has its own apps on top to play the games they make for it.

There is no zenith of evolution. The crux of the theory is the revocation of the classic arrogant assumption that humans are the end of the line. There's always something more advanced toward which we're moving.

Just a thought: it's a nobrainer to extend this to computer software. Is this happening? Probably not, because Microsoft would have a bird, wouldn't they.
Actually, yes. I got Myst, Simcity 2000 and several other nifty things. (this was a while back when these titles were still current). Checkout periods were short, I think only like 3 days, and the waiting list was really long, but it was worth it. (I think the idea was you were supposed to play the game for 3 days and give it up, but we always did full installs. STEALING!!! CALL THE COPS!!!) I never saw any MS software, but I never checked either.
Actually, now that I think of it my family ended up buying both SimCity 2000 and Myst once they reached the bargain bin, and those were the only specific ones I remember getting offhand. So WTF are the big fuckers complaining about piracy?

With word html conversions, every single line has a in it, even if it's just blank. And blank lines are always double height because a carriage return becomes

I usually just use that filter only for long documents in order to not have to retype all the text (they hand us things in.doc), then go back and edit the HTML by hand to clean up.

Their products are damn powerful, but when we say revolutionary we're talking about the/first/ personal computer that your average joe could buy, lug home, plug in, read the manual for about five minutes and do something meaningful with. This is what spurred the revolution.
