    a) Sure looks like anapod does a lot of the things that iTunes does. iTunes runs on more platforms, though.

    b) It took you an hour to find preferences and set it to manual?

Seriously, do you really think that view represents the market? iTunes smart playlist are simple for the consumer to use and for managing music, simply plugging an iPod in doesn't get any easier. anapod has a niche market, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a large % even if it were free.

I'm sure you are more accurate than most with your final figure of about 15% profit per as best case scenario at this time. Apple will make that up with much higher margins in two ways: 1) Always have a higher end workstation in place so people can glom onto the lower end stuff and be happy with brand ownership ("look, I have the same brand as the fastest freakin' thing you can buy") so take less margins on these machines and make it up in the iMacs and 2) As costs decrease, pricing remains the same, raising margins. From #2 and the fact that Intel made a deal to be sole supplier of CPUs and that labor costs to put these things together are practically nil ($1/hour?), I suggest that FUTURE margins, like around the time Leopard comes out, the margins on MacPros will be more around 30-35%.

Now, I didn't mean to step on your purse. My "Nice Analysis, Skippy" was in fact a complement.. and the "You" was a You as in Joe public and I wansn't clear on that :)

    1. Cellphones have to be replaced.. I go through one in about 8 months. Normal people take about 2 years.

    2. Isn't it obvious that the iphone would be sold through the providers the same way Motorola, Nokia, et al are? Maybe it is oversaturated. One way to overcome that is to have a new brand name and a phone with motivating features. Treo, Q phone tried and succeeded to some extent already. It can be done.

It wasn't "included" with the game. There was NO code distributed or sold or given away that did the unlocking. I suggest that it was in the game originally, then REMOVED since the creators decided that they wanted an M over an AO title. The removal process was to make it INACCESSIBLE via gameplay.

If your babysitter can masturbate with your hardbrush, do you need to hide it whenever she comes over? Hey, we should SUE the manufacturer, because NOWHERE on the box does it say that this item can be used as a fucking dildo!

But yes, I think parents are stupid if the complain about something that clearly is indicated as for 17+ and has material that is clearly less than the equivalent NC-17 movie rating. I think parents that would buy a game and not be involved with their kids are also stupid, but hey, I can see a lot of room in this complaint. OMG, I give my kids uncontrolled access to the internet and they saw dry humping in a game!

While I agree that there should have been a few free upgrades in there, I am more than happy to pay the extra $217 over a 5 year period, if only because of the sheer number of hours saved not spent dealing with viruses and spyware.

All other things being equal, do you prefer to pay a large lump sum up front or smaller increments totalling more but giving you the option to NOT pay at any time. YellowDog has given the option to leave OSX in the past and BootCamp gives us that option now.

Also, the $199 for 5 family licenses is really nice for OSX. That saves tons of money if that situation works for you.
