Interestingly, it does... Normally I'd facepalm here, but I can't be sure if you were continuing the joke, so I'll pulling the killswitch before we reach the meta-sarcasm.
Reading comprehension is useful, as well as context. He wrote that in reply to "I would never put any apps that I designed on the app store. You become just to dependent on how Apple feels and the payout aren't that good compared to what Apple gets". On top of that, he never implied there to be one single way to make money.
I'm pretty sure he just said this guy is nutty as a granola bar, and denied that Obama was the Antichrist. What part of his statement was moronic? Are you suggesting that he really is the Antichrist? It would explain a few things...
except for a lingering, and possibly unrelated, issue with links from Google being redirected to spam
Hey - I just had the same problem with an office computer. I got rid of it the same way, but for some unidentifiable reason, about half the links in FF now are opening in IE. Did you have the same issue? If so, have you figured out the problem?
I was forced into using this system while taking my drivers ed online, and I can testify to its crappy recognition. I think once, just once, did it recognize me, despite using the same pattern each time. I eventually gave up and just moved through the lessons without bothering with the verification, which thankfully was possible.
My Brother, Uncle & Aunt all use Windows. In the same space of time, They've each gotten infected with malware at least twice, some more than others. Two of them have shelled out cold hard cash for Win7 because "it's more secure than Vista", had to take the computer to a technician to do the "upgrade" for them, and both of them have been infected with malware on for Win7.
On the other hand, I've always used Windows and only infected my desktop once in the past eight years, and that was thanks to a bad download. From the fact that they had to go to a technician to install 7, I'd say they simply don't know their way around a computer, Linux or Windows.
it is free, why not have a dual boot just in case the other OS gets hosed?
That is very true though, and I do think that's a good idea. No reason to not learn both.
While I understand your initial point, you lost me as you began the next sentence. Have cops never interrupted a robbery? Prevented a murder? Broken up a street fight? You're absolutely right in that the standards are late coming, but that doesn't translate to cops only punishing after the fact. Lastly, while yes, they are late, I'm glad they're coming up now "to serve and protect" in the future(hopefully).
I write and maintain the website for a tile import business, and work in the shipping department, and keep the computers and server up and running. Not business in the sense you mentioned, but a business.
"Gotta be a virus" comes from people who don't know whether it is or not(usually), and that type of person with no computer knowledge probably is being plagued by a virus(or 63 - I wish I still had the screenshot, it was incredible). To answer your other point, yes, past their lifespan, they do break without any provocation just like anything else, that's a given. But have you ever had a computer, within its lifespan, with all the proper attention, break down randomly(whether hardware or software failing)? Faulty parts don't count.
Never a data center, no, but I do handle a lot of PCs from friends and family(yes, I'm the computer guy), besides my own builds. With that information in place, I'll rephrase - 90% of broken computers(hardware/software) within their lifespan, that I have worked on are from operator error. From the five contradictions I've received thus far, I suppose I am to assume that my case is unique, and drop my point.

Bonus mission - tell if if any shapes are patented, and which ones.

You make it sound as if there will some day be infinite humans.
Hey, that's not bad! Thanks for the tip!
Sad but true.
I'm actually hoping he gets the patent - maybe then the rest of the country will start saying "wtf guys?"
If you're going to pick on the use of a /. meme, at least spell /. properly.
Well, hopefully everyone can explain their angle. Am I just not seeing the joke, or are you saying that I defined that typo(?) as "irony" wrongly?
Well, at least home schoolers can spell "irony".
Interestingly, Bin Laden was also strongly suspected of killing someone's uncle. Among others.
This. I appreciate that you recognize the difference.

No, no no, you missed it too. They actually forgot to capitalize - "The Internet has gone to Far" is what it should look like.

Good point, and thank you for making it.
Just to enlarge upon your "temporarily" in your final sentence, isn't everything we own temporarily owned? After all, its not ours after death.

That was, quite probably, the joke.
*slow clap*
You have sparked my curiosity. What do you work on?
