Unless you have an infinitely modifiable heuristic matrix algorithm, I'll put my money on the human. Machines are digital with analog components, humans are analog with digital components.
Personally, I do not buy from BP, nor will I anytime in the near future. Hit them where it really hurts, the bottom line, since that is all that matters to them.
Humans think (not very well), but they think. Machines only act on a specific set of commands. Reprogramming a machine takes longer than a human can change his/her mind, based on the situation in real time.
Hello....this is the government, do you really expect them to give the real data on orbital longevity? Duh. This platform is nothing more than a RCS fuel tank with interchangeable payload bay. Highly maneuverable, more so than the permanent spy satellites. As for being weaponless, return to base, change out the payload, relaunch, target, boom.
BFD, I have Windows 1.0, in the box. All that is needed is Bill's autograph. As for 3.0, it sucked. 3.11 Windows for Workgroups wasn't any better. I preferred 5.0, but that got tossed like every other version when MS wanted to shove the next version down our throats.
First thing that should be done is to nationalize BP in American jurisdiction. Bill BP for the whole messy affair (no pun intended). Put the rest of the oil companies on notice. Seize and/or freeze all accounts of the government official who abruptly retired when this mess started. Identify all persons associated with the oil cartel in America, starting with all pro oil politicians, lobbyists, oil CEO's and their direct underlings. Monitor all oil company financial accounts. As Jimmy Durante would say, "You ain't seen nothin' yet"
How can such an asshole say in the same breath "very, very modest" and "it's impossible to say"? Only when the Earth itself rears its head in indignation will people begin to understand. I'm sure it will be very, very modest but impossible to say.
A man once said (I believe, Lazarus Long), Priests and politicians should be considered guilty until proven innocent. I do not care for any politicians since they all have something to hide in their past that would make them unsuitable to hold political office. The people most capable of running this country are smart enough to not get involved in politics.
Camping Tip: Bear bells provide safety for hikers in grizzly country. The tricky part is getting them on the bears.
You're doing it wrong. The bells announce dinnertime.
As for the DNA database, ALL politicians should automatically be sampled (this should be mandatory) just to have the samples on file when the crooks er... I mean politicians get busted for the crimes they obviously perpetrated.
So basically, what you're saying is the corrupt have rights and the honest, whether they reveal corruption within the corruption about the corrupt have no rights whatsoever?
There ain't no foxes in this here chicken coop and we'll sue anyone who says otherwise.
As the deregulation of the banks that caused the banking meltdown was a Clinton idea, not W.
Banking deregulation was the idea of the banking industry and not the idea of ANY political figurehead. No politico gains anything from deregulation, unless they receive political contributions (payoffs) from the industry wanting deregulation. Eliot Spitzer was on top of this issue until Washington invoked a 1865 banking rule claiming jurisdiction. So much for Clinton. This also shows that the banking industry was embedded into the U.S. financial system long before Bush (I and II), Clinton or any of the recently previous presidents. In fact Lincoln as well as Kennedy tried to bring monetary system under U.S. government control rather than the Bank of England ( later the Federal Reserve, which by the way, is a separate entity from the U.S. government), and look what happened to them. It has been shown that elected presidents can trace their bloodlines back to English royalty (who happen to be from German descent. Also, there are several presidents that have been Knighted, meaning they owe their allegiance to the Queen. These Knighthoods are by certificate, since kneeling before the Queen and being tapped on the shoulders pertains to British subjects only.

You would have been better off watching the Sopranos.
Never watched it. Should I care? Do they have a solution to the oil slick in the Gulf? Do I have MY priorities straight?
watch this series if you dare. These people are raping this country. Here's your tax dollars at work

it would be a terrible waste of money.
When has the government been known to do anything economically? Remember, an elephant is a mouse with government design specifications.
Personally, I do not buy from BP, nor will I anytime in the near future. Hit them where it really hurts, the bottom line, since that is all that matters to them.
Don't open the box!
Yeah, really don't open the box
Shouldn't that be "soldered"?-)
No.

Does this spacecraft look like a satellite to you?
Yeah, one that can return with all kinds of goodies.

This is only a precursor of a secure line of communication, that cannot be tapped, triangulated, or intercepted. Don't worry, the NSA already has it.
I'd consider twice or three time the company net worth quite "modest".
Maybe then oil compnaies will start taking security serious and not "the nuisance necessary to keep the insurance premium low".
It's too bad that O'bama doesn't read /.; He'd get better ideas than he gets from his oil paid lackeys.
But not Halliburton, who made the part that actually broke. Because they're good ol' boys.
Identify all persons associated with the oil cartel in America...
Does this help?

Well, I hope the guards are really desensitized because once they search my laptop they will most likely vomit.
They should be desensitized after viewing everyone with the scanners that reveal the really gross bodies.
corrupt government adviser spams you!
If corrupt government adviser spams you, then absolute corrupt government adviser spams you absolutely.

I don't personally know anybody, but there are thousands of banks in the United States, so it must be possible to start one...
I strongly suggest that you read "Behold a Pale Horse" by Bill Cooper, you might be surprised what can happen.
