Will I have access to source/documentation to customize this linux? If not, I think this kind of item would be frustrating as I am likely to end up with a dream of doing something totally different with this embedded computer...
You know, some networked remote control for it for instance... arg... must... stop... thinking!
Instead of paying lawyers for this letter, they should have paid the PCI-list guy to do his job on a PCI-sig server so the whole 'trademark' problem would be inexistent! This list is something they should have done themselves! And now instead of supporting it, they do rude moves and make it close!
It's a lose-lose here!
I think it's a voluntary move from the slash(er) team so I will spare their/dev/null device... (which is the busiest device on their Minux RedHat 9.9Beta!)
I now think that's because I dared moderate up the now famous Slashdot Troll Investigation... Another user (Cf. a previous post) reports he has the same problem because of that...
Thanks Taco! Now I will get into the line, I promise! I shall not encourage dissidents anylonger, message's clear! If I report all the dissidents to slashdot, can I have my slahsdot-citizen's rights back??
Taco! And what exactly do you think some people you DoS (you call it '/. effect') by linking to their cablemodem-hosted homepage would like to do to YOU??
I don't think you took TCP windows into account...
If I remember well, TCP ACKs are sent for every complete windows, which are 8KB+ in size...
I don't think that this upstream cap could limit TCP download speed much. Maybe it can happen with some other protocols but the video-streams protocols (that another reader pointed out) do not use ACKs since they do not care about the user's speed... That's why there are multiple streams (50kbps, 100kbps, 300kbps...) available for the user to choose (based on what he thinks his connection will be with that server)
53 minutes is a surely marking figure but i don't think it's honnest:
Many of Office's work is done WHILE the user type things or think about a nice sentence etc...
Not so many users have an Office that is 100% occupied all day long... (if this were the case then 53 minutes would be true)
About the OS, well it was obvious it was gonna be slower, but i'm disappointed nonetheless
I don't know if I'm gonna cop.. buy it... I think it's the general trend for the OSes to get slower and slower and if you don't want it, keep your CP/M machine
You can easily change the assocation by holding shift while right clicking on the file and choosing 'Open with'. You then check 'Always open with...' and there you go!
Changing the icon is way harder and is a way more annoying thing in windows.
Alright, people using Linux want Windows users to switch to Linux because it's more stable, more respectful of open standarts, blah blah M$ is crap blah blah lusers blah blah
BUT when MS decide to be more respectful of one of these open standarts, IT'S BAD??!!
Ok home users will always be 'Administrator' (and you have to be admin to spoof packets) but the shortcut is simply AMAZING!
What about Loom?
Prove it.
Which account is it?
Last post???
Your script is waaay too optimistic about the 'archiving' time...

800 people decided it was worth their time to moderate that post. I'm impressed
Yet moderating it meant the end of their existence as 'Individuals Sane Enough To Metamoderate'...
Well that may be the case for the above poster, but my karma is not negative... yet ;-)
Nope, that didn't work...

No I did not uncheck that box.
I tried to login/logoff, doesn't work...

Fark!
Yes I did! I found this post really interesting!
Hey! That's my first whiplash!

Am I the only one that cannot metamoderate?
The option doesn't appear on the top of the page anymore...
It's like that since 2-3 days...
An idea?

Did you notice that they zipped their video files for dowloading?
I guess they can still improve their codec!!!

...as long as the game still works!
Why shouldn't they optimize for a game if they know how to do that?
They should do that for the most popular games, it's a great idea!
(Though their primary intent may have been to 'cheat' benchmarks...)
Shit
:)
I thought it was MS-DOS version 2 that got cracked. Does anyone have a crack for this one?
Every program messes with file associations:
RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime etc...
What's the difference when it's MS programs?

...since privacy helps terrorists.
...would be to make a DeCSS that uses this technique to decrypt DVDs with the 'help' of MPAA's web servers!

Or French saying 'Je t'AIMe' should also be sued! I can't believe those bastards have been violating AOL patents in impunity all that time!
