    Sure, the police can lie to you whenever they feel like, but if you let them spout horseshit to a reporter which is then published without any consequences, what is there to stop them from doing it over and over and having it repeated by other cops who will go "durrrr, dem pringles cans are illegal!" before they arrest you on bullshit charges that you can either plead guilty to or spend 4 months in jail while waiting for a trial?

    An email apology (ok, ok, he never apologized) just doesn't quite cut it.

    Of course, the rest of the article does make it sound like the "reporter" (perhaps no quotes are needed, given the "qaulity" of reporting recently) was at fault.

    A little foreword

    I think the idea of having a 19" rack at home is every techs dream. This was also the case when I wanted to decomission my power hungry and space consuming server PCs and replace them with a 19" rack, but it seems that when ever the frase "19 inch" is added to any PC part the price skyrockets.

    That was the end of my dream until a friend told me he was going to build a new 19" rack for his music equipment as his old rack was getting to small. So we looked into it and discovered it used the same dimensions as the PC racks.

    Goals of the project:

    * Low cost

    * Space saving

    * Low power consumption

    * High disk space

    * RAID1 space for importent data

    I chose Mini ITX motherboards with their size (170mm x 170mm) and low power consumption they were perfect for this project. I only needed to buy extra controller cards for the extra harddrives everything else was onboard (NIC/GFX).

    A little info!
    A "U" is the measured height of a server case
    1U is 44.45mm (1.75inches)
    19 inches is 482,6mm

    Oh, and yes, a counter on the bottom spinning while the server bursts into flame.

It wasn't scary, it was "gee, its getting quiet and dark and .... oh look ... the door is being beaten down by an imp." or "oh look, I opened that door and something jumped out at me (same as the last 30 fucking times)".
    It got old really quick - something that didn't happen with Doom 1.

    in the united states, it's legal to sell armour-piercing ammuniction -- bullets whose sole purpose of design is to go through bullet proof vests; obviously a device designed to kill or maim human beings.

    Actually, sales of armor peircing ammunition here are regulated quite strictly. Of course, this doesn't extend to the sale of ammo like the .45-70 or the .50bmg (or 12 gauge slugs for that matter), but that is the same situation as it is in Canada (except you need to have a PAL, but that goes for all ammo)

    Nor do you have a central applet that would allow you to disable the login "quick" scans.
    Symantec "wisely" handles these settings in as a registry entry in HKCU, not HKLM, so... yeah...
    By the way, if you do disable the quickscan feature using the .reg file on their site (check the links) it also blows away the custom / scheduled scans.
