Pay 20 dollars?! I won't pay more then 11.99 now! And I have a very expensive hi-quality stereo mind you, the fact is digital doesn't sound as good as analog, probably never will, but then what does it matter when all you hear on the radio is mass marketed crap, all the same (so you never hear anything -new-).

The record industry has been ripping us off for years, and over charging ridiculously for thier product. You want lower CD prices? Then do like I do, DON'T PAY THE HIGH ONES!!

Supply and Demand, less demand and prices always come down.

This is what crossed my mind as well when reading the reviews, that this was more orientated towards DNA and DNA based systems. Going further forward to use the info to predict stuff in physic's is curious, but I could see where there could be a plausible link.
I'll wait to see what some other reviewers say before I decide to read it. This looks like a book that would take up a lot of spare time to get through, and I'd like to be sure it's worth the read before spending a few months on it.

  8. NEVER AUTOBILL!!! on Disconnecting · · Score: 1

Never Ever Ever Autobill! It's a fool's gambit. Don't do it or you're a fool too. You CAN'T cancel an autobill at the crdit card company end, you have to do it at the biller's end, and most ISP's overcharge on Autobilling.

Have them send you a paper bill, because you can stop paying that at anytime by not paying it. Simple. Also you can always send in a cancel request with your bill.

Again, DON'T AUTOBILL!! They don't do it because it's easier for you, they do it because it's easier for them. Plus you lose certain privacy and other rights with autobilling and electronic billing. Bet you didn't know that, huh?

    unbelievable characters

    Soap opera behaviour

I could go on, basically the movie isn't worth more the about 4.50. The effects are nice, so are the set dressings, but it was material written and directed by a 5 year old. Lucas has clearly lost his mind.

  14. It's up to the Author, not Flint on Sharing Still Doesn't Hurt · · Score: 1
How to share and whether or not to share an author's work is a decision best left up to the author. Flint claims that if you put your books up for free, you'll sell more. However he hasn't been able to prove it, just offer ancedotal evidence that it might have worked for him.

I myself write, I have several short stories published, I have made very little in profit off of them. However I don't want any of my stories on the internet, because I then lose control over them, and short stories are a lot easier to read online then novels. People who I may not want to be associated with can use and post my stories, they can even steal them quite easily. (I've had this happen before). In print however I have a lot more control, and it take more effort to steal them then most thieves will willingly go thru.

In short, Ellison (for example) doesn't want his stories on line, as the creator, that's his right, they're still under copyright. Flint DOES want his stories on line, again, that's his right as well. But criticizing someone because they don't want their work shared in ways they don't agree with is pretty stupid.

Try using this argument on a woman or man you want to sleep with about why they 'must' sleep with you, because it's your 'right' to have sex with anyone you want, regardless of their opinion on the matter. Don't be surprised by the result!
